Easy installation
The media could not be loaded. I’m no handyman. I was able to install it fairly easily. I just had trouble in the beginning unscrewing the screws. Once u screwed, all you have to do is pull from the end of the wire thing (that white plastic part. Idk what it’s called lol) comes out easily. Clips on easily. Screw it back on and bam. Works great

Worked great to replace 70's kitchen vent fan
I had to disassemble and reassemble the motor backwards to reverse the direction the fan blows since my hood vent fan needed to be mounted motor pointing down (early 70's general electric unit) but that was very easy, and it's so much more quiet than the old fan.

Check the type of plug on your existing fan before ordering...
Great looking replacement fan, though the old nutone vent hood has a standard plug for the fan -- the plug on this model is a different connector even though it says it is the correct replacement. Is there a version with a two-prong plug? Thanks!

Had to fix but works well
The fan came in missing a nut and the blades were broken so I had to use the old blades and take a nut for the bracket off my old fan. The installation was easy and works well even with the replacement parts. Still pleased that it is working perfectly.

Fan replacement Broan F40.000-a
This unit perfictly replaces the original. the only issue was, I had to push the blade all the way in on the motor shaft to clear the grill.Even though the unit is Chinese made it is AO Smith branded, big +, I like to see a trusted name on a discounted price product. The fan is verry powerfull in low and high mode just as good as original when it was new. When buying these units look for the lable to be ligt grey in color like this one. I bought 2 units that were cheaper from other suppliers here on amazon. the motors on those units were wrapt with a white label and the size of the motors were smaller, RPM was slower and the high speed circuit burnt out with less than an hour use. Conclusion: This is a great unit, a must buy for fan replacement. A+

Cheap
I had to heat the fan blades and true the fan before installing it in the range hood. Fitting it in the hood was also a chore. But I got it in, patted myself on the back for all the effort and had a beer. It's been running now for several weeks and is starting to get a subtle whine when operating on low speed. To me that means the bearing is starting to fail. After all the effort to get it trued and mounted, I am not looking forward to doing the same to a replacement. I should have spent the extra twenty bucks and bought a legitimate replacement. Don't be stupid like me and buy this. Spend the extra and get one that will actually fit, and will actually work.

Replacement exhaust fan - what a hassle!!!
The media could not be loaded. After doing some research to find the best fan (not the right original one, since that appeared to have been discontinued), decided to go with this one since it appeared to be “assembled in the USA - to overcome other 10 Chinese made which all looked the same. To my surprise, the actual blades (from Thorgreen in Indiana) came off center and could not be used (as seen in the video). What a shame. You no longer can trust in anything that is as advertised. My exhaust has the motor under the blades so I’ve had to reverse the magnet so it could the blades could rotate the proper way. Some people have reported the same issue. A few more problems related to having the original blade to hit the top of the hood but some spacing did the trick. By the way, could not use the new bracket either, but the old housed the new motor ok. And finally, had to change the black and red wires in the plug which were positioned in the opposite position. All in all, some 4 h of work to have the system up and running again. I hope this motor lasts… the original was about 14 years old.

Perfect Replacement Range Hood Fan
This fan worked perfectly to replace my old fan that was not spinning anymore. Worked flawlessly when it was plugged up and is still going strong after about a month.
