What you want a remote to be.
Sweet machine. I have bought 3 (one for each chair) over 2 years - very compatible with my Samsung TVs. Once, one of them lost its link. I simply took it close to the TV, pressed the “TV” button, and it was as good as new. You initially set it up this way, too. Light-weight and nicely balanced for my hand. White color easy to locate. Love the backlighting. It operates a long time on a charge. Comes with instructions and USB-C charging port: short cord is included. Operates 3 other devices if you have them. Box says it is compatible with all major brands.

Finally, a remote I can see. Fantastic!!
Wow! Somebody figured out that most controls are very hard to see. Why most remotes are black on black with small buttons and no backlight, I'll never understand. This remote easily controls our devices with relatively simple setup. Most important is I can easily see the buttons both because they are black on white , they are reasonable size and their backlit. 100 stars from me!!!

LOVE the BACKLIGHTING - and all 3 that I purchased work great!
I ordered three of these and one APPEARED to not work. HOWEVER, I found the manual online and the diagram showing where the reset button was (at the bottom of the remote, just a pinhole to the left of the charging port). Stuck a safety pin into the pinhole. Pressed the POWER button (top left) and the TV set turned right on. All three are working with our Samsung smart TV's and I love that they are backlit, unlike the remotes that came with the TV sets originally. We're old and our eyesight ain't what it used to be. A couple of buttons are in different locations from the ones on the original remotes but one gets used to the differences very quickly. They are relatively inexpensive (until Trump's tariffs kick in!) so if they DO fail, it won't break the bank to replace them. These came pre-charged and ready to use. Since we don't know how long the charge will last, I'm putting a reminder on my calendar to recharge them at least once a month.

Replaced several Samsungs, great choice!
I ended up buying this remote control out of desperation. I bought SEVERAL replacements for my TV, Samsung BN59-01301A and they were all JUNK. I searched for a better replacement and after reading reviews, settled on the GE.It did have some marginal reviews, but I thought I would give it a try, I could not do any worse than Samsung replacements I bought.....and returned. The Good: It works as advertised. I was mindful of the critical reviews and I have had none of the bad experiences others had with using it on multiple items. I have a TV and DVD player, not trying to run my household with it. Honestly, once I set it up with my TV, it works just fine for me.The Bad: Not much really. You have to read the instructions to get the code and set it up for your TV, this can take awhile but not difficult. Charging, 1) It is rechargeable and when it needs to be recharged, you have no idea and it just stops working. 2) The charging USB cord is very short and inconvenient. My resolve was to buy USB adapter so I can use one of phone charging cords that is like 10 ft long, problem solved. 3) If you hit one of the buttons near the top and take it off TV mode, it will not work and can't figure out why. I hit the TV button and it works fine, took me a couple times to remember that.I am quite happy with this remote to replace my Samsung POS. I returned several Samsungs and this GE was the right choice for me. After months of frustration, all good now, I recommend this remote.

NO CHANNEL GUIDE BUTTON!
I recently bought a Samsung QN32Q60DA TV for the bedroom. The remote it comes with is chintzy, basic garbage - no backlight, number keys, streaming keys etc. I used it to do the initial setup and hated it immediately. There's not even an obvious mute button, I had to refer to the manual to find it. After searching for a backlit replacement I purchased this one.Right away I was unable to find a key that would pull up the OTA channel guide (I use an indoor antenna). I had not yet connected the TV to Ethernet to look for channel listings inside apps. I called the distributor, Jasco, and the rep. had me try two keys and then went and asked someone else. When he returned he told me that their universal remotes work with most brands and should control "basic" functions on newer TVs, but aren't guaranteed to do everything the factory remote can. I said channel guides are a basic and important function of a smart TV and they've been around a long time. What good is a smart TV if you never know when programs are on? Even in the '60s you could find out in TV Guide! I swiftly returned this sucker to Amazon. This remote has a button to directly access TV settings, but no button for channel guide - need the Samsung remote for that. It would make infinitely more sense if that were reversed and the Samsung remote was required to access settings, because settings are (usually) only changed occasionally whereas the channel guide is needed many times per day - often many times per hour. This is the second time I've had issues with a Jasco product. The first time, I found a defect in night lights that they were unaware of: the lights turned off in 45 seconds instead of 90 as advertised. After much back-and forth and them asking me dumb questions like "when you are testing these lights are you testing them in the dark?", they finally acknowledged their mistake: they had sent the wrong specifications to their manufacturer in China and the lights were then made with the wrong timers.
