It is ok, but not as precise as you might need it to be....
I received this item via the vine programme. Here is my honest and unbiased review.Initial impression is that the pieces were just in the box all loose and jangling about, so I wasn't sure about it. If a manufacture doesn't pack its product in a way that protects it, then maybe it isn't all that good!?I will say that this did work, but it just isn't as precise as some people might need to to be. I have had a go at jerry rigging my own routing jig, and the results were comparable to this product, so I don't know if this is worth the £19.99.It is ok,3 stars!I

It works but has its flaws
I've always wanted to try one of these router circule jigs, so jumped at the chance to review this!Short version : it works. But it's not perfect and getting good results will take some care. Here's what I found.- It didn't fit my router base! I could only fit three screws. That will hold it, but not ideal. My router here is a Katsu - a very common palm router which is a copy of another big brand which makes tools the same colour! As far as I know the screw holes are identical to the big brand ones too.- Too much play in the head. The connector between the router base and the long arm has some wiggle. Even when fully tightened it moves. This makes it almost useless for routing a straight line along an edge. I've highlighted this in a photo with yellow arrows.- Fitting a pin to rout a circle is hard to do accurately. The hole in the middle seems about 3.5mm diameter. The instructions (on the Amazon listing - none were included in the box) state to use a 3mm nail. I never had a nail that big in my workshop. And the listing shows a screwdriver being used to install the 'nail'! I tested using a 3mm machine screw, having drilled a 3mm hole into the piece of wood I was testing on. This left some wobble, so if I did a full circle it wouldn't be perfectly accurate.- I think if you got some 3.5mm pegs, or drilled out this jig to 4mm and used 4mm machine screws, you could be onto a winner here.- Storage of the spares is a bit of a pain. The little 'T' section used to run this guide along an edge is just a standard bit of T-track. There's a loose metal block which goes into it, and then a captive bolt goes down through to tighten it. End result is three pieces to sit in a drawer loose when unused. If you have a lot of tools you probably have a LOT of these little accessory pieces, and keeping track is a pain. If these could be stored in the jig it would be much easier! As you can see I did some test cuts making 'parallel' curved slots in a scrap of wood. And it works. I'm really looking forward to my next project when I can find a reason to rout some curves or circles into it :)But I wouldn't use this as a straight edge routing guide. I wanted it for that, because even my nice Dewalt router has quite a short edge guide and this 30cm+ guide would have been handy. But it's not accurate enough. As a final note - I tested the mm gauge version. But having seen it in action I wouldn't worry which you get. The guide isn't useful at all, since you have no way to accurately install the router bit to line up with it! So don't look at the guide and just measure properly as normal before cutting.I'm happy to give this 3 stars despite the flaws. With a bit of effort I think this will be great for doing circles and curves up to about a 40cm radius which is a pretty decent size!
