Great jig. Works perfectly!

Amazing tool, easy to handle and perfect size and the price is marvelous. A tool like this in the big stores would have cost like $45 and up. Works to my needs.

First, use soap or wax on the bit to keep the friction down otherwise it gets hot and begins sticking to the guide and can bend slightly. In softer woods like pine this thing is fantastic. It doesn't funnel the wood shavings out of the hole so make sure to drill a little and pull back out to remove them. I tried using this in some harder wood (white oak) and it was considerably less stable results. For what I paid for this thing and the use I got out of it, it was well worth the money and I'd definitely buy it again. The only other issue is wearing out the screws that hold it in place. If you have a lot of holes to drill I highly recommend getting some extra wood screws about 3/4" - 1" long.

As expected

Bit is made of cheap metal and will over heat almost instantly. I took my time to let the bit cool, but too much deformation of the bit caused the bit to grab the metal sleeve and ceased onto it. The jig is useless now. I went to the hardware store in my area and purchased an 8” Irwin bit and a Milescraft drill press jig for a drill. They worked flawlessly with better cutting action and less heat buildup on the bit. The wood I’m drilling in is alder, which is not extremely hard so it shouldn’t have caused the bit to fail so quickly. I contacted the seller over a week ago and no response. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT AND THIS COMPANY.

The jig was shipped with one 1/2" X 8" drill bit. The 1/2" x 6" was not included in the package that I received.The jig itself was in good condition.

What I guessed but did not know until I received the tool is that the bushings are threaded in and can be swapped around. To me this is important as I can move one to the 90 deg position and drill it out to the size I need on a press, then put it where I need to use it as a guide. Nice tool, generous clamping area on top. This is for flat surfaces only. It would be nice if there was a 'V" groove under one of the rows so it could be used on round or square stock.This is definitely a keeper in my handy bag.
