Quest New PI Pinpointer Xpointer II Waterproof to 5 Meters

I purchased this because I was taking a family member detecting and only had one pinpointer. My personal preference has been for the Garrett black pinpointers, they work very well, detect every metal you can think of and the batteries last a long time. This one was interesting because it is rechargable, no batteries to replace, so I thought I would give it a try. It is very loud compared to the Garrett, which isn't really a bad thing, but if you buy one, prepare yourself! :) The charge lasted for two whole days of on/off detecting (about 10 hours each day) and it found everything I pointed at. The value is definitely there! The hole in the holster is a bit small if you put the end protector on the device, but you can make it larger easily enough. I really like this thing and will likely buy another when I need a replacement or backup.

Overall good quality but NOT even close to the 3 1/2” detection stated in the description. More like 2 1/4” at max. This model doesn’t include the magic holster which is only a magnet in the holster but works well if included.

Loud enough to hear in the surf or near roadways. Lets you know where the target is. Takes a little getting used to but is a nice device.

I am a big fan of rechargeable pin pointers. They should all come this way. Very nice loud and waterproof speaker. Very nice holder. Only issue that I have is every time that you turn it on and put it into a hole it gives that first notification and then when you pull it out to dig a little further it starts to go off while laying on the ground. You have to hit the power button again to calm it down. It doe s perform just as good if not better than my OG carrot. Did I mention - rechargeable!

Everything seems good so far. However, the end caps for the digging end are way too small to fit the pinpointer. Sensitivity seems very good.
