Want to play vinyl, get a proper MM stylus, AND spend under $100? get this.

I'm surprised. It may be the only sub $100 record player with a good head unit and needle. It's prefect for the kid & I'd use it over any of the 3 low-end kit I have in various places I spend time when away from the mid-range Denon table I call home. Since this takes up such a small space, is easy to pack and unpack to use. & has a good-enough speaker built in - with options to BT or RCA new kit - I'd buy it again (and again). It Works well & looks like a glimpse of the past - like the portable record player I got from my mom's teen years back in the day. Though it being portable isn't a needed feature - I *was* tempted to bring it to a rental house we spent some time in. Vinyl is best mostly because the artists get paid and it force me to choose actively what I want to hear. 20ish mins later, the room is the sounds of silence until I choose again. A refreshing break from 24/7 of streaming a digial library that never ends...

Looks cool, easy and fun to use, portable, good starter turntable for the budget=minded

For the 65 USD price I paid, this was a good deal. The unit I received appeared to be a customer-return based on the return slip I found inside. Everything worked like new and the sound is good with the built-in speakers. The platter speed measured at 33.35 RPM +/- 0.36%. Anything less than 2% is generally inaudible. I measured the tracking force at 3.65g, which is better than the 6 to 7g with the generic ceramic cartridges. Looks cool, easy and fun to use, portable with built-in battery and speakers.

Paid a lot for very little.

I was excited to order this for my daughter as a Christmas gift because she loves playing her albums at friends' houses and on vacation. As a Victrola product, I assumed it was sturdy and high quality. Despite being sturdy and traveling amazingly (always handled gently), the quality is another matter. After only a few uses in the last 18 months, the unit has crapped out completely. It won't charge, and it won't even turn on when plugged into AC power. Upon pressing the power button, the speaker comes to life, but nothing else. No lights or turntable. And upon releasing the power button, the speaker shuts down, too. We've tried resetting it (reset button in the back), we've tried different power cords besides the one it came with, and we refuse to break it open to try and troubleshoot. After only a dozen uses, we shouldn't have to. While we will be replacing it, we won't be replacing it with another one of these. Apparently the Victrola I grew up with is not the Victrola of today. Do not recommend. Look for an alternate portable player.

A decent portable phono with an Audio Technica cartridge that plays LPs, 45s and 78s!

This phono was a big surprise! A rechargeable battery that plays 8 hours at decent volume on its own, can play via Bluetooth from a phone, and also has line outputs to play through a home stereo system! What more could anyone want from a portable that sells for < $100? Most phonos in that price range are similar to the Crosley Cruiser, which is junk compared to this unit! This has a magnetic cartridge, whereas the Crosley Cruiser (and most other self-contained Crosleys or clones use ceramic cartridge that aren't even the correct impedance for the amplifier they're connected to! This is a great entry-leven phono for teens, college students, or anyone who needs a portable. It comes with a wall wart that charges the battery, or supplies AC power when desired. List price is $199.95, but Amazon has it discounted. Get one while you can!

Pleasantly surprised with sound an performance.

I bought this as a gift for my wife for her birthday along with some vinyl records. I had read a bunch of reviews on various websites. I was looking specifically for a player that would play records well from the internal speaker and would also be able to transmit to a Bluetooth speaker. A lot of the reviews are read about this product were negative mainly that the sound was poor and that the system wouldn't connect to Bluetooth speaker or had trouble connecting on various attempts. So I was somewhat skeptical about the purchase, but out of all of the Victrola systems, this seemed like the best one for what I needed. As I said, I was pleasantly surprised with the sound quality coming out of the speaker. Was pretty loud with decent sound albeit slightly tinny and with little bass. It connected to my Bluetooth speaker after about 10 seconds, which is a little longer than other systems, but it connected almost every time and the sound quality that was coming out was pretty amazing. I connected it to a poke audio Bluetooth sound bar I use for my television. I do notice that there is some skipping on the records, but that may be due to the shape of the record not being exactly flat. I wish that it would return the needle to its position at the end of a record, but it does automatically stop the record player from spinning at the end of the record. I don't think I'll be traveling with this and I don't really think it's possible to carry it around and listen to it but it's nice that you can take it on a trip or potentially between separate locations. Overall happy with my purchase.

10/10 for a portable turntable.

Imo, this is the best first turntable. If you or someone you know wants to get into vinyl, this is a great place to start. Great stylus, tonearm, and speakers for the price. 1000x better than any other portable turntable. If you can get this <$100, go for it.

New found love with a vintage appeal.

I absolutely love this player. It is very easy to start up and get playing. Value for me is perfect. My only dislike is I would have love to have the yellow or grey. but...... I'm cheap so I went for the black. Color of the player is a very solid black. It doesn't seem very durable but who is willing to test that with a record player. Connectivity is seamless and quick. Now the one thing that I think is amazing is that It has 3 modes vinyl, stream and Bluetooth. The first and third speak for themselves. The stream mode allows you to Bluetooth the player to another Bluetooth sound system. Cord is included, it is a little box type and there is a compartment on the bottom of the player. This is the only thing so far that I think could have been designed a little better because it isnt big enough for the plug to be stored without folding the cable and damaging it but it works. Oh and one last thing there are rca inputs and 3.5mm on the back.
