I was simply blown away by this book.
This self-help book fully explains how a “method” of cold exposure, breathing exercises and the right mindset can bring many health and happiness benefits. Wim Hof has developed and refined his method over 40 years and his book covers a lot of ground. Coupled to the Wim Hof Method is a biography, tonnes of anecdotes, lots of details of biochemistry and medical trials.Whether you wish to adopt or even try the Wim Hof Method makes no difference to your enjoyment of this book. My usual reading is in the crime/mystery/thriller genre and NOT self-help books. I was simply blown away by this book, it is so refreshing. Wim Hof is very charismatic and would make a wonderful television chat show guest.I found this book very easy to read and follow. It is very engaging, interesting all the way through, with no boring bits. I liked reading about his life, values and vision plus delving into relevant psychology and spirituality. This book makes you think and question how nature works. I like Wim’s vision when he writes…It’s who we are. We’re not these hollow vessels staring at a tiny screen in our hand. We’re not the lethargic couch potato watching the football match.…Wim explains how as a society we have been conditioned away from nature…Our comfort-zone behaviorism has made us weak. More than that, it’s made us dependent. We sit in 72-degree rooms and watch television while eating processed “comfort” food to escape from the self-imposed stresses of our daily lives.…This book caught my imagination because Wim writes with such passion. Wim is truly intune with nature and his book shows how science can learn and progress when it studies nature. Wim tells you to NOT think about your health but to follow your feelings. Simply follow your gut feelings, turn back to nature and when using his breathing exercises, that “Every round reactivates the adrenal axis.”I found The Wim Hof Method to be an amazing OUTSTANDING 5 star read. Wim writes with such love for humanity and this really shines through. But it is not just humans he has a love and passion for, it is all of nature - a natural world we can all live in, side by side, in harmony and happiness. Very touching for me are his final words within the acknowledgements at the end of this book…Last but not least, to Zina, my brown shadow, my dog, my guru. She embodies loyalty, warmth, unconditional love, and selflessness. In the mountains, she is three times faster than any of us. She only wants care.

Cool book
Interesting book which I read after hearing and seeing Win on various media channels. Personally I found it useful to read after hearing the charismatic talk about his methods ,without that I may have struggled with his written positivity. Certainly I follow his breathing techniques and cold water therapy which has helped keep my 65 year old body fit to long distance run.
