this book is a terrific resource. It landed on my doorstep yesterday afternoon ...
If you are interested in the way active traders in, well, anything with optionality, view their world, this book is a terrific resource. It landed on my doorstep yesterday afternoon and I have already spent an enjoyable and enlightening evening paging through this work with the dog at my side. I know it will survive many further perusals. As others have pointed out, it finds a happy median between "Options for Dummies" and "Some Book By a Prof. Who Wants To Throw Equations At You." The math in this book is all of the distilled E = mc^2 variety that reveals fundamental truths. A must for hedge fund veterans who rely on options vol to finance their kid's trip to Harry Potter World, like me.

Great book if you are a derivative trader
This book is full of deep insights conveyed in the most intuitive way. This is only feasible when the writer has an unbelievably deep understanding of vol. huge fan!

informative
I've had to jump around in the book to find the meaning of certain terms. Maybe I'm too dumb for this book, but it has the information just not the 1st time you read about the term. All in all very informative, I'm working through it like a workout more than a read thru.

Great at Balancing the Theoretical with the Practical!
I applaud Colin's effort in taking very complex and misunderstood concepts and making them both easier to understand while making them vaguely interesting! This book really filled a need in the options education void where there is an over-emphasis on making money instead of the deep amount of theoreticals that - by extension - will help the trader/risk-manager to avoid the most common mistakes made by professionals and day-traders alike. I thoroughly enjoyed Colin's confidence and thorough understanding. The book does a GREAT job at balancing the theoretical with the practical. I place this book up with Taleb's "Dynamic Hedging" book!

Best material on vol, skew, correlation
I've referenced this book countless times over the past 3 years. It's immensely helpful in understanding trading volatility, skewness, and correlation. It's edge over other books is that (1) Colin Bennett is still active in derivative strategies, and (2) everyone else's writing on these topics is fairly dry, but this author has an engaging style.

The author has done a great job at balancing theory with practical application
Although this book covers all of the complexities of volatility trading, it does so in a very comprehensive way; starting with the basics. The author has done a great job at balancing theory with practical application, and I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in gaining a thorough and professional understanding of volatility and derivatives. 5 stars!
