Installing the lock physically was very easy. It requires an app to set it up. After several failures with nondescript error messages, I tried another device and it worked on that one. With this, it took many times longer to configure it that it did to install it. Fortunately, once the app is up and running, installing a 2nd lock goes very quickly.Some minor cutting to accomodate the new plates was needed. This was done using a utility knife. The plastic box-like object they provide wasn't useful though. The deadbolt recess was oval in shape. It would have been a lot of work to have to chisel all that out just to get the rectangular plastic box in there. That was left out.The main drawback for me is the auto-lock. It is based solely on timing and doesn't care if the door is open or closed. Another lock I have is smarter. It has a hall-effect sensor and locks when the door is closed. Much nicer. I would much prefer this type of locking, but was unable to find a unit that met my requirements. I chose this one as something of a tradeoff.The other problem is aesthetics. What works on the outside, aesthetically, doesn't work so well inside. The inside is a large dark brick like object whose color doesn't match the typical interior decor. It would be better if they had a few covers of different colors to use for the indoor part. I covered the battery cover to lighten the color. The outside unit, though, looks great. One of the reasons I bought it. But there are two very different sides to a door. I am not done yet. I will try to find a way to make it look nicer on the inside.The app is for the most part well written (except for the lack of proper error messages), but the copy function from lock to lock isn't very useful. It doesn't bring your attention to its limitation which is that it only copies the card info. Nor does it say what it did. It just says copied 2 records. Not very informative. It does not copy the fingerprints. Getting the fingerprints is a lot more work. Being able to copy those would be a bigger benefit than the cards which are easy to add.Overall, though, the unit is quite acceptable. The main thing likely to sink it is if the auto-lock turns out to be a nuisance. Auto-lock is a must have for me. A good auto-lock with sensor would be preferred. Time will tell.

I bought this lock for the RFID tag feature, my elderly mothers hands shake and there is times were typing in a pin will take 5 minutes or even can not put the pin in to unlock the door. I am coming from a Zwave/Zigbee Yale pin pad lock, this is my second smart lock and I can say I am really impressed with the lock for the features and the price. I got this when it amazon had a $30 off coupon but I honestly would buy it again if the coupon was not an option again.Before you buyIf you are thinking about getting this lock I would say do it, there is two things which I think you should know first about it though. I did not read all the info about the product before I bought it, the big thing for some people will be that this lock requires a hole to be drilled in the door to support the lock(there is a picture of the required hold on the pictures that I missed). The box does include a drill bit to drill the whole which works really well. (I ended up assembling the lock before installing in the door to test the working function of it and if I like the features about it, before I installed it permanently) The other thing which may not be a big deal to anyone is you have to download the TTLock app to set up the lock, I have an android phone and the app is well laid out.The ReviewThe lock itself seems and feels to be decently built, the locking motion is smooth and does not bind at all internally. After drilling the hole, the installation of the lock is pretty easy. The box includes all the hardware that is needed for installation plus 4 AA batteries and two RFID cards. The lock communicates over bluetooth to set up the lock and to use the functions of it as well. The pairing of the lock was super simple and easy, I was able to set up two finger prints, a 4 digit pin and a RFID card in under 5 minutes. I can honestly say the app for administration and functionality of the lock is really fantastic definitely makes this lock something I would recommend to anyone. There is alot more features that this lock and app has to offer that for me personally I won't use but it is nice to have the option for them, you can create and share an admin key through the app to allow there people in the house to manage the lock as well. I do not plan on using my phone to lock/unlock the door often, but if I was I would probably get the wifi gateway so I can do it at a distance farther then the 33ft the bluetooth is limited to. The actual functions of unlocking the door via, fingerprint, RFID card, and passcode is really fast and a great improvement over the speed of the old Yale lock.Last remarksI currently have had this lock installed for around a week now and have had no issues with it, I live in Arizona so I am curious to see how it will stand up in our summer heat. I will give an update later on (current date 11/2020) about the summer months and how the lock as been doing. If you are thinking about ditching the old just key locks I would say do it, no having to search for keys when you get home has been amazing.Update 10/2022The lock is working well, I would recommend buying it still. The battery life is pretty good also, I use Duracell batteries and they last close to a year. I also bought the wifi bridge to the control the lock remotely and it works just like you are controlling it via Bluetooth. With the bridge the app will tell you who unlocked the door and what time and also when the battery is getting low. The only thing I would add is if you live in a climate where it rains often be prepared to have to wipe the lock dry before you can use the fingerprint or keypad.

I purchased 2 Smonet Smart Locks in October of 2023. They have worked so well! My children can enter the house after school using a thumbprint, I can lock/unlock the keypad remotely, single use codes can be created for various occasions and needs. I've loved them far more that the very expensive Schlage locks I had previously installed which kept failing and sticking.However, in August 2024, the backdoor keypad just stopped working. I did all of the necessary trouble shooting. I replaced the batteries and use the reset button. However, the keypad was non responsive. I was able to unlock the door with my thumbprint, but could not lock/unlock the door from the outside with the keypad.It took me a while to get in touch with the Smonet customer service team. I found a phone number that only led to an error message that said "Misdirected Request". I then tried email and received one reply requesting my Amazon order number, which was provided that same day. Then received no correspondence for at least a month, despite several attempts on my part for follow-up. When I FINALLY found the right phone number, I did receive an immediate reply. I was reached via text by a service representative who was extremely helpful, took my information, collected a video from me demonstrating the issue and then quickly sent a new lock to me. The initial texted contact occurred on a Tuesday and by Saturday of that week, I had a new lock in hand. This service representative saved the day and improved my experience with the Smonet lock. I've now installed my NEW Smonet lock and am very happy with its function thus far. My front door lock has never failed and has worked properly since day 1.
