Great multimeter
I've used this multimeter to measure things from button cell to CR2016 batteries to AA and even car batteries, and this proved to be useful and reliable through my tests. I don't really know how to use it but from tinkering from it, I use mine on the V~ 20 (DC) setting which provides for pretty accurate measurements. There is a small User Manual that comes with it but it doesn't actually teach you how to use the DMM.The product that I received was slightly different than what is pictured, and the box that it came in is also toned down to less flashy graphics. I like it very much and can't wait to see how long it lasts. I think it uses a 9V battery but that's already packaged inside the DMM, not sure it'll be until that 9V conks out. The red and black testing probes seem a little flimsy at first touch but I reinforced them with a little hot glue where I thought the wire might break... no problems as of yet!Buy this for a cheap and (sofar) reliable Digital MultiMeter. Don't mess with those old '50s analog multimeters as those are too tough to read and are often not as reliable as this. If you need a DMM for more important things like testing batteries for medical purposes, I would suggest to get a brand name DMM but for the price, this is great for the casual hobbyist!Edit:You plug in the black leading wire to COM and for tasks that draw less than 10Amps, plug red into the middle jack that says VQmA to measure things like AA battery voltage and small tasks. BLACK ALWAYS GOES TO COM. I suspect other reviewers say that this product doesn't work because they plug the leads into the wrong jack. I also forgot to note that sometimes at other settings than V~20, I get readings where the lcd reads: 1____. Maybe this means that my battery was out of range for that specific range-test-field but I'm not sure.

Better than the old model
OK, I'll go ahead and say that no, this multimeter doesn't hold a candle to a Fluke, no, it doesn't "feel" as solidly built, and no, I'm sure it's not as accurate as the "professional" multimeters. But I'm not a professional electrician, I'm a hobbyist.I owned the previous incarnation of this meter, which is the "DT830B" pictured. However, what arrived was the "MM2003", looking like this: [...]It's got a bigger display, the "audible tone" actually works in this version, and it has a signal generator which I will probably never use. Also, the previous version seemed to "drift" under open circuit conditions...in other words, I would switch it on to measure voltage, and it would start showing fairly random numbers until I either placed the test leads on my voltage source, or touched them together. I guess there must have been some leaky grounding somewhere. This version no longer has that annoying behavior. However, the resistance measurement seems noisier. And did I mention that the battery is included? This is a great, CHEAP product for the casual hobbyist or someone who just needs to check continuity or make sure that their voltages are in the right ballpark. Toss it in the toolbag and don't fret about it.Now, if you plan on doing any serious electronics work, you owe it to yourself to get a higher-end meter. But you already knew that, didn't you?

Junk
Well it lasted 2 years before throwing in garbage. The wires eventually pull out of the probes. I tried to shove back in and tape but no good. This is the second one I purchased. First one lasted a bit longer but same thing happened with wires pulling out. I use it once a week to check batteries in my RV. Why is everything now cheap junk? I’d go to Radio Shack to purchase but they’re (and everyone else) out of business…thanks Amazon

Heapy Cheapy
I think you get what you pay for with this thing. I have not tested it extensively but it seems to be close and will do the job and the prices under $10 so that’s good. In your hand, it feels like a cheap plastic toy, though I have to admit. If you have anything more than in frequent use, I would suggest getting a better quality. Course it depends on your needs - made in China, of course.

Works Great
This is probably 1 of the oldest type Multimeters I ever tried to use and to make sure I was using this item correctly I downloaded an instructional video. This video taught me many things I did not know about using a Multimeter, things that now I am more than positive are the reasons that not a 1 of my other multimeters did not last very long at all. Knowing this now I see that this multimeter is very accurate and will likely last for decades of use as long as I use it correctly.
