Ortho Bug-Geta Snail & Slug Killer2

Ortho absolutely has the best snail and slug bait. Although many people prefer the powder, I find that especially on annuals it will clog pores and make flowers struggle. Also it doesn't last long into the season. On my five properties I always use the pellets. They last a little bit longer and are soaked into the ground with watering. Using this type of product is especially important with large leafy plants like hostas or primroses, they seem to be the flowers snails will feast on the most. I apply everyone to two weeks and my hospice stay beautiful the whole season. In price matching the 6 lb bag seems to be the best bang for the buck. An Amazon has the best price over our local nursery, and Walmart.

Stuck home during the pandemic, I knew that a lovely garden on the porch would be a huge mental health boost. I ordered a mess of plants and potting soil, then gleefully designed my collection. With our mild Seattle summers, I can leave the front door standing open much of the time, and the beautiful begonias, ferns, hostas and other plants perk me up every time I walk past them.The only issue--hey, it's the Pacific Northwest--is the snails and the slugs. Oh lordy. Because I have a curious little beagle that thinks he should taste every new substance he runs across, I didn't dare lay down slug bait. I figured I'd just go out there with a salt shaker before bedtime and kill the little stinkers one by one.That didn't go well. For every slimy critter I killed, an army was hidden and waiting.With little hope I ran a search to see if there was something, anything I could put down to kill these pests without also killing Ox (and possibly half the cats in the neighborhood, too.) I found this product, and it sounded too good to be true, but darned if it hasn't worked perfectly! I sprinkled it liberally in rings around each of my half-eaten plants the evening it arrived. The instructions say it's slow-acting, so it will take a couple days before I can see the difference, and I might not see a lot of corpses, because they crawl off and hide before they die.Sure enough! The next two days I didn't see much change, but on the third day there were a couple of empty snail shells on the front porch, and I didn't see any evidence of living snails or slugs. It's been a week now, and there are no holes in the new growth on the previously afflicted plants. I am sold!I only wish I'd found this product sooner. I will use it forever.

…which is easy to handle and shake out the sprinkles.Friends said “sprinkle coffee grounds around plants to thwart snails” but so went this route instead.Apologies little snails, but those perfectly round holes suckled into the healthy, rich, (apparently tasty!) green leaves of my plants must cease.As far as I can see, snail activity has halted.R.I.P. little mollusks. 🪴 🪴

Love the way you can pour out this product and it works Great doesn't dissolve in the rain.

I've used this brand previously and have gotten some great results. It kills the slugs and snails and I have not seen any for about 3-4 months. I finally ran out of the pellets and the slugs came back into my yard. I'll treat the yard and planters again and know that it will get the job done.

We had slugs "sluggung" up the outside wall and then slithering under the door, then climbing up the inside of the door. DOUBLE YUCK. One application of Bug-getta stopped the appearance of slugs. But a month later they revived and returned. So, another application of bug-getta. BYE-BYE until next year?We will see.

This stuff works!!! It’s amazing! I have pots that sit on dirt around the patio, a raised veggie ground veggie garden & a flower bed in the front of my house. It rained for a cpl of & many of my plants seemed like they were being eaten. I saw nothing! One night I saw a slug in my planter, then I took a flashlight and saw those slime trails all over the place. I started picking them off by hand but there were just too many and the next night there would be more. I have never had a slug infestation & I bought this house just this winter. I sprinkled it inside & around my flower pots, front garden & arnd the outside of the raised garden bed. W/in a few days I did not see one slug or slime trail! It’s been about 2 weeks & still NOTHING!!! This does not seem to affect the plants at all. We have had a lot of rain since & I don’t see as many pallets so I’m not sure it lasts as long as it says with a lot of rain. But there r still NO slugs. Some of them have had a white fungus around them in the pots so I just plucked them out. It didn’t seem to harm the plants at all. Most of my plants have new growth & are recovering well!
