IDEAL FIX FOR THE CANON G7X
I am very satisfied with my purchase, it fits my camera perfectly and it does not prohibit the lens from its functions neither does it give any shadows in corners compared to the mag filter I have seen which is an absolute PLUS!! It does the job to attach a 52mm lens precisely which allows me to protect my canon g7x mII lens from dust and it even came with a lens cap, a cloth to wipe and a adpater remover so it is easy to remove.... what I also loved was the fact that they sent me a hard copy invoice as well. I would recommend I will be uploading a video to my youtube channel soon of how it fits and how I applied it on you can check it out dependant on when you are reading this review the channel name is Ashawnya.

This is a very good idea for cameras without filter thread
This is a very good idea for cameras without filter thread. The adapter is a bid pricey but it works well on my Canon G5X and it actually makes the camera look nicer. There was no instruction enclosed, but installation is not difficult. My little complaint is the two rings ( one sticked to the lens housing, one installed with a filter) don’t attach together firmly. There is quite a bid of play when I put them together. There is no problem of them being separated by themselves, just a bid annoying to feel the filter moving.Over all, the adapter gives the lens better protection and adds the flexibility to use different filters. Great job!

Seems sturdy and looks good.
- Put it on my Canon G7x mark II, it seems very sturdy and attaches well to the metal jacket of the barrel.- With the 52mm tiffen filter + the original Canon lens cap (, from my 52mm prime lens, not the one that came with it), the total thickness is about 1.5cm on top of the original lens protrusion.- Can't tell yet how well it will block the dirt, it may need some time to show.- The lensmate is not completely sealed as it does have small opennings behind , so it may let some small dirt in.I will revise my review after our trip next month.

Seems good.
Who knows what the descriptor "warmth" means. Followed supplied instructions and installation was easy. Initially it seems secure, time will be required to assess longevity of the adhesive. I was disappointed that no extra adhesive rings were supplied with the order. One has to order an additional ring with the adhesive pre-applied if the initial ring does not adhere properly or needs to be re-affixed. It is an additional and excessive expense and affects my overall evaluation.

This is a fantastic (almost mandatory) accessory for the G7X Mark II
If you've been doing your research on the G7X Mark II it's one of the top compact cameras in its class. Your research probably also indicates that its fatal flaw is the fragility of the lens cover blades and its susceptibility of getting dust under the lens.As such, lens protection is pretty much mandatory. There are three ways to get this protection. The first, is a cheap lens cap. However, a lens cap interferes with the lens motor if you're like me and don't always remember to take the lens cap off before powering the camera on. The camera will notice the obstruction when operating the camera motor and shut itself off. I don't think this is good for the lens motor and it also leaves your lens vulnerable while shooting. The second, is a magnetic filter attachment. It's great because it doesn't impede the lens extension, keeps protecting the camera during operation, and gives you the nifty option of using various filters. However, magnets are susceptible to bumps and contact; sometimes knocking them off completely. This Lensmate adapter is held on by adhesive and it's rather strong (although I haven't tried removing it). Standard 52mm filters fit easily over it (you can even stack filters if you wish). It really is the best option. It even comes with a snap-in lens cover. I wish I had read that earlier ... I bought one in the same order as this product. The only cons about adding filters and lens caps is that it makes the camera lens protrude out farther from the body. However, that's to be expected, unavoidable, and not a downfall of the product itself.

Good lens cover, might be useful even if you don't use filters to keep the lens clean
I bought this for two reasons. First, I wanted to use a polarizing filter on the camera and this was the only way I found to mount one and that feature works just fine. I was a little concerned about having to mount a ring to the camera with tape but that was not a problem and I can't even conceive of how it might be once I did it. You get a little round dodad that helps you center the mounting attachment on the lens frameThe second reason I bought it was that the lens protecting external shutter over the lens was intermittent on my camera. Not enough so that I wanted to return it for warranty work, but enough that I was concerned about finding another way to protect the lens and this solved that problem.Interestingly, the shutter now works just fine, closes every time completely when I turn the camera off. I think this adapter with it's own lens cover is a big help keeping dust off the shutter mechanism.
