Is this as loud as a fire alarm? My dog is scared of loud beeps like fire alarms so wouldn't want to scare him

No it's not loud it is just a continuous beeping. Threre is no way your dog to be afraid of this tone.

Question 2

How thin are these? would it go inside a mobile phone case?

I would say that they wouldn't fit in a mobile phone case as it it 7mm at it's thickest point, you could possibly attach it as a phone charm if your phone has that availability as it is quite light and slim and measures 2 inches x 1.5 inches - hope this helps

Question 3

Can i use two at the same time, to locate up to 16 things, so if i press a on one remote, it will only trigger fob a for that remote, not both a fobs?

If it helps.  I bought this kit for my Mum who has early onset dementia.  I delegated one lozenge to each item   ie one lozenge on a ring of house keys. One lozenge in a handbag etc.  
I put a red lozenge into her purse , and , attached a green lozenge to a key ring with one key on it.
This particular green lozenged key , I put into the zipped inner section of the purse.
The logic behind this was , IF the keys “ disappeared from the purse then the purse itself still had its own lozenge...    following so far ?    The keys , with the green lozenge , then could be found separately....   as long as Mum hadn’t removed the lozenge .  Now , if she has removed the lozenge from the set of keys but has left the set of keys in the purse , then the red PURSE lozenge will help me locate the purse and then , hopefully find the Green lozenge where ever she has hidden it.
The remote will only serve the number of lozenges it has been supplied with.  That is 8 lozenges , 8 buttons  One lozenge to one button and each lozenge and button are alphabetically arranged.
This kit is supplied with little stickers which picture a Handbag , a Purse etc and they can be stuck on the handset . If you chose Button A for , say , the handbag , the you pop lozenge A into the item you want to locate.     As I have said , I do have 2 separate lozenges placed into one item( the purse) but I need to press  only ONE of the buttons to locate the item .....       
I would think that f you buy 2 remote controls and lozenges then if you press a button that would make Both lozenges beep so it would be a case of finding where both the items were .
Do hope this very full answer helps.     I would recommend this item which was able to locate my Mum’s purse which had shoved into a Wellington boot and then stuffed with a magazine.  The boot was down the side of the chair and sitting under a table.  Makes life so interesting. Lol

Question 4

I have one of these and it works. It has been useful already.  If I bought a second one to track more items would it clash with the 1st one?

I'm not 100% but I would imagine the fob from a second one would activate the key rings that you already have ! Normally the remote controls for small devices are paired to the same product. I recently bought 2 mini players for TV play, and both remote controls work on both players, vice versa. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
