Winix Signature U450 Extra-Large Room Air Cleaner with PlasmaWaveTM

I purchased three of these units to clean the air in my city apartment. I considered several other models including the Blurair and IQair purifiers but ended up going for these.Not only do they do a great job at cleaning the air, the filters are competitively priced, it is a great looking unit with an easy to use inferface and is quiet enough to run in a bedroom at night time.If you're looking for an air purifier, this is a definite contender. My only gripe would be that it wasn't supplied with a UK plug.

At first: yes it got an Euro Power Plug...thats one of the reasons I bought it as I am from Austria.Why I did not Order it from a German or Austrian Shop is simple: it's much cheaper here at Amazon.co.ukI got a few hints for other buyers:1. you can turn off the Ionisation (Plasmawave) by pressing the "Auto" Button for 3 sec.2. on first setup let it clean the room for an hour on Turbo mode...then unplug it from the Power...wait a minute and replug it...it now sets up a new clean baseline for the Auto Mode.3. put an additional Filter between the first and second layer of the Filter Casette. Some generic Airfilter foam/tissue will do...this will lengthen the life of the very expensive hepa Filter.4. gently vacuum the first filter every time you do the room.5. if you set it up in your sleeping room cut some think paper to the size of the display and tape it on because the the display is very bright. Don't forget to put it to manual silent mode too.Now to the Winix U450.Even the second speed setting is quiet enough to watch TV beside it.The first speed setting is so ultra quiet that I can sleep with it right beside my bed in touch distance!All higher settings are kinda loud and it makes some kind of whistleing noise.The Auto Setting reacts very fast to smells after you set it up in a clean room (see my hints). It even detects a fart (no joke) and speeds up.As my Livingroom is joined with the Kitchen I can also confirm that it removes odors very fast.I am not allergic to anything I would know of but my nose is clean in the morning when I wake up since I got the Winix U450 which was not the case before.
