Excellent for the money!
the Meiki MK-XT2G hand grip for the Fujifilm X-T2 is an amazing option. If you love your X-T2, but find that the grip lacks confidence or you need a little more substance to fill your hand, this is for you. I was a bit irritated the the Fujifilm model is over $100. I wanted to try a hand grip without being down $100 if I didn't like it.The fitment is excellent. Really great for such an affordable alternative. The grip turns the entire base of your camera into an ARCA-SWISS style plate. Which makes mounting and dismounting on tripods super fast. Plus it gets rid of the need for an additional plate to remember to bring along or tighten up periodically, or lose and replace. Whatever the case is, I hate keeping up with QR plates. The base of the grip also include 6 additional 1/4-20 mounting holes. So, if you have a Manfrotto or other style plate, you can still use that stuff. I have a Manfrotto Video head, so, it's nice to be able to couple those things together without having to take the Meike grip off.Only complaint - the "leatherette" looking part is noticeably different from what Fujifilm employs.. This doesn't upset me too much, as you get what you pay for. But it's something that detracts from the overall joy of using the grip.I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Great grip, 0 difference between it and Fuji brand
I love this battery grip. I don't see any difference between it and the Fuji brand one I had in the past. Battery lasts a good while longer than just the single, and it's convenient to charge.

Added functionality is great. Build quality is so-so. Picky about batteries.
The biggest downside, as other reviewers have mentioned, it is very picky about batteries. I have 4 wasabi brand batteries. Two of them work in this grip, and two of them don't. It's like the grip can't detect them even though they appear to be identical to the ones that do work. The two that don't work, work fine in the camera itself. The added functionality is great. 3x battery life, shooting vertical with the additional shutter button, extra grip, and remote shutter -- all very nice to have.I like the usb charging, it works fine in my experience, I prefer to charge overnight with low amp and that works fine here. The remote works nicely, although it does feel cheap and I worry about longevity. I haven't tried using it for interval shooting but it seems like it would work well for this.

Intermittent Communication with Battery
First of all, The Meike MK-XT2 Pro Professional Vertical Battery Grip looks great straight out of the box. It definitely looks like it was made with the same material with the Fujifilm X-T2. The remote feature is definitely a convenience for shoots that require stability. The only downside is that the grip does not communicate with the batteries well. I have tried using third party and original Fujifilm batteries, but they batteries do not register on the screen when the grip is being used. It does not show any battery levels, and detects as empty battery after a few clicks. I have already communicated with Meike directly, and they were kind enough to send me another grip straight from the main office in Zhong Guo, but the replacement product performed the same exact way. They've investigated the problem, and sent me another grip from a different manufacturing batch, and it still performed the same way. I have done the tests on two identical Fujifilm X-T2 camera bodies that were purchased in the United States and Japan, the batteries used were 7 Fujifilm NP-126S and 5 Wasabi Power batteries. The results were intermittent, and would work perfectly fine from time to time, but still displayed the same intermittent battery detection. I have lost contact with a personnel from Meike International, and I have not received support since then. I am happy with how the grips have worked for me since the Fujifilm X-T1, X-Pro2 ones came out; but this one just shot my experience expectations down to the ground. I would definitely want my money back, but I don't think they would honour a refund since it's been two months since the first order was placed.*the replacements take about a month to get to you since they come straight from China, or some warehouse.

S2 -- Get it
Had to add a little something to my S2. It's on and fits great using my " man hands". Love the compact camera and this addition is what makes the S2 perfect in my hands. This blends into the camera and does not look like an add on.

Great grip overall, but BEWARE if you don't have Fuji brand batteries
UPDATE:After using this grip for several months, I feel the need to update my initial review of 5 stars, and drop it down to 3. And 3 stars is probably generous, but those are for the physical design and physical function of the grip itself. The problem with the electrical function of the grip is that if you don't use Fuji brand batteries, it won't work properly. You will find that it won't register off-brand battery power levels on the display. But worse, the grip will turn on and off at random moments since it suddenly won't register any batteries (Fuji brand or otherwise). And of the one Fuji battery that I had in the grip, half of the time it will show the power level as empty, even though it is fully charged. The bottom line is that Meike clearly has an agreement with Fuji in order to manufacture these grips, because Fuji will still get their money via battery sales. If you plan on saving money by buying this off-brand grip, be prepared to invest in (3) Fuji brand batteries (@ about $60 each) in order for it to work properly.

Better than the original
This grip is a perfect fit on my Fuji XT2I had the original Fuji grip but it stopped charging the batteries. The Meike grip was cheaper than a new charger plus it has USB charging instead
