Ask and then Listen.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who owns or works with horses. While we all have different reasons for doing what we do with horses, from companionship to sport, all horses need to be heard, and all deserve empathetic relationships with the humans in their lives. The exercises in this book will help anyone better see the world from the horse's perspective, and this will open the lines of communication on both sides. Margrit's ability to connect and listen is remarkable; and we can all access this same ability if we want to take some time, open our minds, and open our hearts. Margrit shares many stories in the book as well; I see my horses in all of them. In fact, this past week my mare was obviously troubled and unhappy; she is very expressive of her feelings, though I am not always able to interpret the message accurately, which I know frustrates her. I began to reread Margrit's book, and did the exercises, both in the presence of my mare and at a distance that night. When I returned to see her, I asked her what she wanted me to know. And I realized that a recent change in her feed was causing the trouble, as she has a delicate digestive tract. I adjusted her feeding program back to the old one, and she returned to her old, sweet self. I think that if I had not been working to see the world from my horse's perspective, and had closed the line of communication from her to me, I would have continued feeding her the new, "improved" diet and attributed her unhappy behavior to something else. As always, be sure you are not dealing with a medical issue by having a veterinarian check out your horse. Be sure the tack fits and the lifestyle is positive, from the horse's perspective. And always listen to what they tell us in the only ways they can. When I asked my mare if the new feed was ok, she immediately pinned her ears, pointed her nose towards me, curled her lips and snorted. Message received, loud and clear!

So important!
Margrit is an amazing resource of information and has an incredible perspective. She really is a champion of the horse and allows them to lead the conversation and respects them in a way we can all aspire to. If you are around horses, or just love them from afar, this book is a must!

Very readable book about communication with horses
The book is full of great examples of communication with horses. Not just about the horse but about the receiver or the handler too. If you want to learn about all the different possibilities and about why we should take the horse seriously, this is your book. If you want to learn how to do it you may find other books more useful.

At Least I Will Try!!!
I wish I could do this like she does! I definitely view my new horse as a sentient being and so want to establish a line of true communication with him.

book title explains itself.
good read, and I have read several books on horse communications and language of horses. this one is good, but like all the horse books, take in considerations its one person's opinion, and not the bible on horses.

Ever wished your horse could talk?
Have you ever wished your horse could talk? Well it turns out they can it's just that we are not listening!! A great follow on from her book "Healing For Horses" this shows us how we can learn to be more receptive to the messages our horses try to give us.We may never have the talent for healing and listening that Margrit has but this book shows you that we can all benefit if we switch from "transmit" mode to "receive" mode. It contains simple exercises that anyone can do with their horse and best of all - the horses love it.Having been lucky enough to have met Margrit and have her work with my horse I know that her work transforms lives: it did for us.

My favourite!
I totally love Margrit's books and her way of writing is so easy and understandable. Even if you are not a horse owner but love animals or have other pets, this book will still apply to your life. Its about animals communicating and is truly amazing; in this case its the horses doing the talking. This is a lovely book - one of my fav favourites!

Another great book from Margrit
Very humbling book. Horses are sensitive creatures (more so than humans) and when that trait is recognised then the relationship between human and horse increases many fold.

This is a fantastic read I could not put the book down
This is a fantastic read I could not put the book down. It opened up a new world between my pony and myself. Gaining a understanding that I did not Know could exist. It also helped me overcome an illness that I had been suffering with for many months which I am truly grateful.
