Larousse French Dictionary (French and English Edition) Paperback – January 1, 2011

This is freakin awesome, exactly what i hoped to have as my reference dictionary. I'm old school, and this is a newer version of those quality language dictionaries we had in the late 90s. Excellent condition, shipped quckly--seller gets 5☆☆☆☆☆ as well.

I bought this English and French dictionary for myself. It's a great reference book to help you translate from English to French!

I like it

I was visiting my father and missed reading French novels to keep my French up.So, I ordered this thick Larousse and found the type easy to read.I realized later I didn't need the English translation to French, and might order just a French to English dictionary next time which would be smaller and less cumbersome to hold and pack in a suitcase.So, consider what you're going to use this for. If it's just for translating French to English, you may wish to look for a book which does that.I was very pleased with this - but only used the front half of the book.

At more than 2" thick, this is the real deal with 260,000+ words, expressions and translations.The print may be too small for some and the shiny strong paper cover with thick sheets, will not wear well if using constantly. If traveling, I would suggest a smaller version...unless you stick with a phone app.

I had a version of this dictionary when I studied French in high school and college but this one is a deluxe version. It has many grammar notes and verb conjugations in the book. It is also updated with current spelling and accent mark changes along with a list of abbreviations. Am finally going to Paris next year so I wanted to get back into the language. This book will surely help a lot.

I bought this concise French dictionary for my granddaughter as she studies French in school. She keeps it at home for reference. I have one myself so we can converse and it keeps my French fluent as I seldom speak it outside of family. It's also a big help to me when I do crossword puzzles or run across a term I'm not familiar with in a book I'm reading. Totalement utile! (Very useful!)
