LEKI Rubber Fitness Walking Tip

Use these on Nordic walking poles. They last longer than some other brands I have tried.

I got these for my Leki Nordic walking sticks and my Excel and Swix if they will fit. I have edited this review after more experience. They do not fit the Excel sticks. I do not use the Swix and think they may not fit them well either. But then, I've found the Leki sticks to be far superior and never use the others. They are made for Leki. I first thought they were better than the standard tips that come with the Leki. I have changed my mind. Today, for instance, I walked a sidewalk that had patches of light sand, pine needles, and dried grass clippings. These tips kept slipping. I put the standard tips back on and slippage was less - much less. However, the reverse is also true at times depending upon what you are walking on.One definite negative with these is their size. They cause a slight amount of "bounce" or springiness as the tips contact the ground. That may be good or bad depending upon the individual walking style. I do not like it. The standard tips are more precise when planting the sticks during the walk.Basically, I'd suggest both tips for the Leki sticks and to switch them when you deem necessary. Depending on the conditions one will provide better traction than the other, but there doesn't appear to be any distinct determination when or why. I say this after miles and miles of nordic walking on sidewalks and pavement with both tips on my Leki nordic walking sticks. For now, I use the standard tips as my primary, but I keep these in my pocket in case I think they may work better and maintain a supply of both.I do not regret getting them and keep ordering replacements as needed. I do the same for the standard tips. I'd suggest having both; thus, I advise to buy these.

With treads almost completely worn smooth on the Alafen feet/paws, Leki feet replaced Alafen on 15 September. Session history on Polar Flow indicates an aggregate of 96.38 miles of Nordic walking on Leki feet. Left (my dominant hand) Leki foot has two middle treads worn smooth. Top and bottom tread pairs remain distinct with minimal wear. Right Leki foot has the two middle treads worn yet distinct. Top and bottom tread pairs have minimal wear. Leki feet remain functional and in continued use. Virtually all my Nordic walking is on asphalt roads.Leki feet are made of stronger rubber than Alafen feet and last substantially longer for me. Transmission of ground contact "strike" seems more noticeable with the Leki feet than the softer Alafen. The rate of wear for Alafen, defined as mostly smooth bottom and worn-down treads, has been substantially higher than these Leki feet.4.5 stars; recommended.

As of this writing (3/2018) I'm 52 miles away from clocking a total of 10,000 miles walked. Not all walking includes using trekking poles, or trekking poles with walking tips attached (hiking for example).Here's my log of distances I've obtained with various walking tips, most of which are this set of tips being reviewed. I use a pair of Leki trekking poles. Results are from walking on pavement. My average distance before wearing out 20 pairs of these tips is 320 miles.5/28/2019 update: Miles walked now total 11,390. I ordered these because I could not find replacement tips for my Gymstick Nordic walking poles. These work really well. They fit tightly and grip just enough for urban walking on sidewalks. They fit tightly and don't turn around on the pole. I ordered a second pair to have on hand while the are still available on Prime.
