Canon XL-H1 3CCD High Definition Camcorder with 20x Optical Zoom

This camera's video quality is top notch. The camera has all the professional connections that you need both video and audio. I have shot several football games and Dance recitals with these camera's and I have never been disappointed with the quality of the video, even if they shoot to Mini DV tape. having the option to change lenses is another big plus, tho a XL to EF adapter is required unless you have the 3.4-20mm 6x XL Wide Angle Zoom HD Lens for the Canon XL H1 1/3" ENG Camera.(HEY Canon! can you replace the tape drive with some SD card slots?)

Returned it. Too complicated.

All Canon HDV cameras has an important issue: if you record in 24F or 30F modes, the tapes can only be played back in the camera itself. Canon records those signals in a proprietary mode that is not HDV compliant. YOU CANNOT PLAYBACK THE TAPES IN ANY DECK OR CAMERA other than Canon.

The Canon XL-H1 is king of DV and live video productions!The low light quality is unmatched on any camera in it's class.The ergonomics are spectacular, making the camera excellent for smooth handheld shots.The buttons are accessible in awkward positions and are easy to use, plus there are programmable buttons that can be personalized.This is a serious camera for any serious job.------This is outdated due to the fact that a Canon 60D with a Tamron ATX Lens, Real SanDisk Cards, and Tamron ATX lenses is cheaper and so much better. TRUST THAT COMBINATION!!! Don't use Canon Lenses for video!
