A Hedonists Guide to Beirut (Hg2: A Hedonist's Guide to...): Hg2 Beirut (E) Hardcover – 16 April 2009

This was superficial and very much out of date publication. This book should not be on sale in its current format as it is useless as a guide and miselading, almost to a point of being funny.Beirut is a wonderful and glamorous city, full of warm, chatty and hospitable people so we had no problem fiding great places to eat and an go out but it was no thanks to the book. It would not be hard to update this book as the information is so readily available.The only saving grace of this book was the 1 page overview of each of Beirut neighborhood as it was a quick introduction to read while rambling. But as it is a hard back book, it is havy to carry around.

Don't be fooled by this. It is far too little (and now far too late) to be called a guide. It is a heap of nothingness and a lot of flaws.

The title should be a warning.Very superficial with more pages on places to a)drink or b) snack than on culture and only one reasonably good value hotel mentioned. Not bad on restaurants.Not a substitute for a good guide book but there's nothing much around.
