Harold and the Purple Crayon

I bought this for my nieces who are 2 and 4. After reading it to them, one of them said, "wow" and both of them said "read it again!" and that's on a 60 page book! Good teaching tool and lesson for kids on the subject of reality.

Great imagination and great minds go hand in hand or should I say in this case hand and purple crayon! So delightful and great play on words and idioms. Captured the innocence of being a kid with big wonder and imagination and flowed from page to page almost like a if you face a cat a cupcake kinda banner . Loved it when I was a kid and now my daughter loves it too!!! Classic

I remember reading this book as a child and I loved it. My son loves it too. Perfect to read to kids as bedtime or just getting them to enjoy books. Very cute story of a boy & his imagination with his purple crayon.

This book is a must-read for every kid. It perfectly captures the imagination of childhood while having enough linguistic complexity to amuse adult readers. Just make sure and explain to your kid that it's not OK to draw on the walls!!

There is a small typo on the inside paper sleeve! It reads: "story has intrigues children." It should say "intrigued."

On adore cette histoire. C'est vraiment poétique.

The book is amazing. It has simple illustration and only two colours but explain fantasy to the kids. Through the simple line that the young Harold trace with his purple crayon a world is revealed.

Over the moon to have found this much loved family staple of /from my childrens childhoods and to be handing it down to the grand daughters. It's a rare gem this gloriously winsome treat.🐎🐎🐎

J'ai acheté ce livre pour mes cours d'anglais, mais les enfants n'ont pas encore le niveau nécessaire pour bien comprendre le livre et je pense qu'en fois le niveau acquis ils seront trop grands. Si non c'est un livre simple mais avec beaucoup d'imagination.

Ok, confesso che ho voluto provare questo libricino dopo aver visto una foto del presidente Obama che lo sfogliava in una libreria... ma sono rimasta piacevolmente sorpresa nel vederlo diventare immediatamente uno dei preferiti libri dela buonanotte per il mio bimbo di 3 anni ! E questo nonstante concorrenti del calibro di Peppa Pig e La Pimpa, che possono vantare una diffusione maggiore tra i suoi amici ed in tv.I disegni sono semplici e lasciano spazio alla fantasia, la storia diventa sempre più appassionante man mano che il piccolo Harold cerca di trovare la finestra della sua camera da letto per poter andare a dormire: prima disegna una strada (dritta per non sbagliarsi), poi finisce in un bosco (con un solo albero per non perdersi), incontra un drago, va per mare, vola per aria, finisce in città... lieto fine assicurato, così come la soddisfazione del piccolo lettore!
