I ordered two of these, One of them Pink Hearts and one Black Paws coloration. I really like the designs on the collar and it seems very well put together. I purchased this solely for the breakaway function and the pleasing design, and I was not disappointed.It is reflective as advertised, and though the bell seems easy to remove, I chose to leave it attached. Both of my cats are strictly indoor due to living in the country with a lot of predators and close proximity to the road, and it definitely helps in tracking them down around the house. I have very quiet cats, and ensuring everyone is accounted for in the morning can sometimes be quite a search.The variable lock takes quite a good bit of pressure to trigger the breakaway mechanism, which I like. It has three settings, and I am confident that this is not collar my cat is going to lose anytime soon. It is important to make sure the clasp is securely fastened and not just partly connected, which I found was possible when testing out the breakaway. It is also important to adjust the collar to the appropriate size based on your cat, and you should be able to fit a few fingers into the collar but they should not be able to easily slip it over their heads. Cats with sleek coats can have quite an easy time slipping out of an improperly fitted collar.It is important to note that on the variable mechanism, the lowest setting is extremely easy to open. I would recommend the medium or highest setting, as they are much more reliable. I would not recommend the lowest setting for an adult cat.I keep a rabies tag and an ID tag with my contact information on the collar.I find breakaway collars extremely important when dealing with cats. Their naturally inquisitive nature tends to put them in tight situations and they can easily get caught while jumping or running around. The threat of losing the collar is always present, but I would rather lose the collar then find the cat hanging on a fence or tree limb or trapped to be picked off by a predator. I think the only reliable method of safe permanent ID with a cat is with a microchip, as even if the tag is lost the microchip should remain intact for the duration of the animal's life.

The reflective blue cat collar from Rogz is pretty nice. The Safeloc feature helps keep it on my cat, Elphaba, and since she is a black cat, I feel a little safer knowing that if she ever escaped the house, passing drivers could see her a little better and perhaps avoid hitting her. And she did pose stylishly on the windowsill within moments of my putting it on her, so as a cat fashion statement I expect it must be better than average.Alas, the collar does absolutely nothing to help Elphie with her fear of baths and water in general, though it has held up very well despite my having to leave it on her when she occasionally rolls in something unspeakably odorous or lets out a paint-melting kitty fart and has to be bathed for the good of all around her. She once climbed bodily into the kitchen trash-bin after some discarded lima beans and for such an otherwise dainty cat, I'm not sure she even HAS a sense of smell given how she befouled the air afterward. Kitty bean farts plus a light coating of gone-offy leftovers...vile. I keep telling her that she is a suburban housecat and her attempts to 'keep it real' with these alley-cat pretensions are making her as ridiculous as Vanilla Ice, but she is a young kitty and doesn't always listen. I suppose I'm getting what I deserve for naming kitty after the Wicked Witch of the West, and considering the nice people at Rogz never claimed to be able to help kitties with their fear of the B.A.T.H., I suppose it was a little much to expect. And the collar does wash off beautifully! I put it in with my clothes in the wash and let it air-dry and it was fresh as a daisy by next morning.I did, however, discover that if you place just a tiny dab of mint or catnip oil, like less than half a drop, on the outside of the collar, not only does it help deodorize even mischievous wanna-be alley cats, but they roll on the floor tripping catnip balls for like an hour afterward. So that's fun.
