Easy to control and decent shower unit
I’ve bought this to replace an identical unit installed over 12 years ago. It’s leaking and rather than mess around replacing worn parts, I’ve decided to replace with another unit which is exactly the same.I need a plumber to install because the pipe and electrical works required are, in my view, best undertaken by a professional. I bought the same unit to minimise the work required; should be remove the old one, refit the new one in the same place. As a shower unit, I’m pleased with performance. It provides instant hot warm or cold shower water at a decent pressure. It’s easy to clean, the graphite Co,our gives a contemporary look and it’s cost effective. I’ve used the old shower daily, at least onc3 for over 12 years without any problems so I’m confident this replacement will offer value for money.

Reliability issues?
I bought this shower as an exact replacement for a previous shower because it looks great and performs brilliantly. There have been a few reviews concerning the reliability of this item, and I must say that we had some problems shortly before our old one stopped working completely. Having done a little research, there are two points that I have found that may solve reliability issues. First: if, after use, the shower head is left in a low position (such as in the shower basin or bath) for long enough for the water to drain from the hose, there is a risk that water will also drain from the shower's internal heating unit. Therefore, before returning the shower head to its normal position above the shower unit, turn the temperature control to the fully cold position then turn the shower on for a few seconds to refill the hose and the heating element. This prevents a situation during subsequent use akin to turning on a kettle that has no water inside. Second: I noticed during installation that there is a warning label on the internal unit stating that the shower would not work properly unless the supplied oulet hose and shower head were employed. This suggests that if you replace these items after a few years then you ought to buy these from Aqualisa and not use some alternatives from other retailers.

Simple to operate
Replaced same unit like for like. The old one was installed before we moved into our house over 5 years ago. New unit didn’t work initially when installed and purged. Bracket holding the internal solenoid was bent. Remedied by my plumber. Fingers crossed the fix works for the lifetime of the unit

Perfect replacement
Bought this as a replacement for the same model that has served us well for many years, but that finally went to shower heaven a couple of weeks ago. As it was an exact replacement it was really easy to fit, old one off, new one connected. Supplied riser bar and shower head holder not quite as good quality as the old ones but still reasonable quality.

Worth every penny .
I had the same shower and it lasted 10 years so I just had to replace it with the same make and model ,you can get showers a lot cheaper but I consider this one to be worth every penny and it also looks good .

Not Recommended. Stopped working within 3 Years. Painful installation process.
Bought in September 2019, stopped working in March 2022. It's definitely not what I would describe as a quality product. The thermal cut out (TCO) switch has most likely failed, but it's been intentionally designed to be not user-serviceable. The only option is to buy a whole new 'engine' (circa £140) and have another fiddly installation, or to get a new shower. I'm going for the latter, because I'm tired of manufacturers taking the mickey with this kind of approach.(Original review below.)There's no doubt the manufacturer is trying hard to provide a quality product, but I can't see anything that justifies the top Which rating that this shower has.To start with it's a remarkably fiddly installation process. There's a quite short, mid-right, mains water input and high, top right, electrical connection that seems very different to the Triton/Galaxy showers that I've installed before. There's very little room for error in the holes required for fixing to the wall (no horizontal play at all in terms of slotted fixings), so drilling will have to be spot on. (Not helped by the short input connection here). Once you get it all plumbed in and connected, the screws that hold the cover onto the base are an absolute nightmare to access and locate. And there are no snap-out areas on the case to get around any piping, you'll probably need a junior hacksaw and a file to sort this out if there are issues. And finally, after it is all installed, the power seems quite low compared to my previous 9.5Kw showers. It feels like you can have flow, or heat, but not both. I like a hot shower where I don't have to stand right under the shower head.Anyway, I'm rather disappointed given the cost, and if you're buying as a replacement shower for anything other than another Aqualisa Quartz, I really wouldn't bother.

Had to modify due to moulding fault
Bought this to replace the same model that had failed that was in the house when we moved in.Because it was a like for like replacement everything was straight forward with plumbing and wiring.Problem arose when I came to start the shower, could hear a buzzing but no water was coming out, I had charged the shower so I knew water was in it and going to it.Removed the cover and tried it again and it worked; after some checks it turned out that the front cover was fouling the solenoid that drives the water valve open and closed. I had to remove some excess plastic that appeared to be from a leak in the moulding tool that made the cover so ither people will be ha ing the same problem. Once this was removed the shower worked just like the one it replaced.I guess I could have sent it back but with these sorts of jobs once you've spent the time installing it you don't then want to take it all out again. If and when I need to replace this one I won't be doing a like for like swap.
