Accurate, Reliable, Affordable, Fast and Easy to Use!
Finally I have a simple, accurate and easy to use monitor calibration tool! I've tried the other popular brand the i1 Studio, now owned by Calibrite (previously X-Rite) and found it was inconsistent due to having too many features in one unit. The calibration process was lengthy, complicated and ambiguous, but worst of all the software backward compatibility when X-Rite handed its consumer products to Calibrite resulted in buggy operation. The attempt to force an upgrade to new product was apparent. The Datacolor Spyder, on the other hand is a joy to use, much faster and color/contrast/brightness are all very accurate! After calibrating two side-by-side monitors, the images are almost perfectly identical, and certainly when the are printed out there will be no difference at all. Indeed, I may end up purchasing the Datacolor Print calibrating product, just to simplify and improve printing, which given the price of ink and paper, should pay for itself many times over. All in all, I'm very satisfied with the Spyder product, and the price is very affordable as well.

Must have took for professional editing
Very easy to setup and use but you must know what model monitor you have because youâll likely need to look up the specs. This will allow the device to calibrate your monitor properly. Very neat tool for photo editing. If you are looking to edit your photos professionally, you MUST have a tool to calibrate your monitors.

Required software is useless, makes owning the Spyder a moot point.
I've had the Spyder for several months and was never really happy with it. On my old system (a Windows 10 computer) it worked just OK. The Spyder was helpful for measuring ambient light and getting the monitor to the right level of brightness, but beyond that I wasn't 100% confident in its calibration settings. (I do photo and video editing, and I've used other calibration tools before.) After I got a new Windows 11 computer I tried to re-calibrate the same monitor, but the calibration wouldn't even load. After that I tried other calibration software, but I couldn't get it work at all. I recommend paying more for a better supported calibration tool from another brand. I'm taking this to electronics recycling.

Fast, Accurate, and working all the time.
The process to correct your monitor's colors and luminosity is much faster than others I've used. Plus, this monitors the light intensity in the room to adjust your screen's luminosity on the fly. If accuracy is your goal, this is your choice.

For Pros and Prosumers
I've used Datacolor products for years. This is no slouch and completely worth the money. My favorite feature is being able to calibrate all the monitors that I have on the same system to look similar, regardless or make, model, or resolution.

A must have for photographers!
No, you don't want pink faces in your photos. This Spyder monitor calibrator changes the colors you see on your monitor to a standardized format so your prints look natural. It's easy to set up and use, and it's functionality is transparent. Your other programs, like games, won't be affected negatively in brightness or image quality.

Ultra-Buggy Software - Unusable on brand new PC
I bought this to calibrate the monitor on my new PC - a mainstream model with a 4K monitor and the most popular video card on the market. Installing the software was an adventure. When it first detected the sensor, it warned that the sensor wasn't working and suggested that I request a new one. Then I unistalled the software and tried again. The next time, it didn't complain about the sensor, so I continued. When I completed installation and activation and tried to calibrate, it told me I wasn't authorized to use that sensor. I disconnected the sensor, and rebooted the computer and tried again. This time I didn't get any error messages, but software didn't have any way to proceed to the calibration step.So I explored the support areas and finally determined that the only way to get help is to open a tech support ticket. They responded at 3am the next morning and suggested setting the monitor scaling in Windows to 100%, which solved that issue. I had it at 300%, so that's not unreasonable. With that problem solved, I was able to complete calibration, but the software was not able to save the generated profile, so my monitor remained uncalibrated. Subsequent attempts gave me the unauthorized sensor warning about half the time and always failed to save/install the calibration.I relayed this information to the "support tech", who has still not responded two days later.I returned this to Amazon for a refund. This is a new product released Sept 2024. I was apparently an unpaid beta tester.
