Wearing a mouth guard is mandatory in American football. You do not want to risk a concussion. There are a thousand different designs and a large number of brands making mouth guards. Many players do not care about the type of mouth guard. It’s the primary thing you have inside of you. And maybe you don’t like having thick mouth guard in your mouth. There is a simple solution, however. With the strap you can attach the mouth guard to the helmet. Thus it can never fall into the dirt. The junior mouth guards are recommended for use up to the age of 11 and thereafter the Senior mouth guard will usually fit.Brief instructions:Fill a saucepan with water and bring the water to a boil. Then remove the cooking pot from the griddle and let the water stand for approx. 30 seconds and then hold the mouth guard for 12 seconds in the water. Make sure you do not exceed 12 seconds. Remove the gum shield with a spoon (or the strap) from the hot water. Gently shake off residual water. Using common sense (remove if too hot), place the mouth guard carefully on the upper teeth and bite lightly on the mouth guard, while at the same time pressing the rubber edging of the mouth guard to the teeth using the fingers through the lips and cheeks. You can also suck forcefully on the mouth guard. This will aid perfect adjustment to your teeth.Do this for about 20 seconds.Let the surface of the mouth guard cool for approx. 10 seconds e.g. under running cold water, so that it achieves a comfortable temperature. Now check whether the mouth guard fits perfectly. Should the mouth guard not fit perfectly, repeat the above steps from 1st step to the 5th.
