Incredible lens for the cost with tons of features and low light performance
This is a fantastic lens for the price, especially seeing as it has very good auto focus and the remote which I don't personally use however its a fantastic addition. This lens is very high quality and has very nice picture quality not to mention its significant benefits in low light at wide open but it does soften the image a touch and like most lenes you will have a very shallow focus, over all this is an incredible lens for the price and anyone looking for a good budget lens with fantastic performance without needing to spend close to $1k with certainly enjoy this lens.

Better than I expected in almost every way
(YONGNUO YN11MM F1.8S Lens w/Remote Controller for Sony 11mm F1.8 Large Aperture Fixed Prime Lens Auto Focus APS-C Frame Ultra Wide Angle Lens for Sony E Mount Mirrorless Cameras / $298 at the time of ordering)Wow. To be honest, I've only ever bought Sony or Sigma lens' for my Sony mirrorless. Being happy with the performance of those 2 brands, I've never really even looked at other aftermarket companies. At first glance, I just assumed this was one of many cheap knockoff brands out there. After doing a little digging, I ended up reading a bunch of reviews for some of their older products and was surprised to find out that they've been in business for a bit. And the reviews for some of their older lens' weren't half bad. So I took a chance. To start off, build quality is good. Lens has a nice weight to it, though it doesn't feel that heavy when coupled with a body. The image at 11mm is very useable. It's sharp in the center and to the immediate left and right sides. When you get to the outer edges it is less sharp, but only when you pixel peep a bit. Along those lines, there's also some slight vignetting noticeable with the YONGNUO, but nothing too out of the ordinary. From any distance, the image looks great. Chromatic aberration for both the Sony and YONGNUO lens' are similar. Both are very good. With the Sony lens, when shooting something like a brick wall with defined straight lines, most all of the bricks look straight and uniform as they should. But with the YONGNUO, there is some very slight curvature on the top & bottom. Definitely correctable with editing software. But just something to be aware of.Focusing speed was very respectable. The Sony is faster (but not by much) and was more reliable with ‘locking’ on to subjects. In comparison, the YONGNUO was almost as fast (maybe some slight flutter when locking on) but worked well most every time. And honestly, if I hadn't been comparing them side-by-side, the actual differences wouldn't have been as apparent. When doing some creative video shooting, I didn't have any real issues focus-tracking or moving subject matters in and out of the frame. The remote is novel but I could've done without it. The focus pull was very cool and definitely convenient if you don’t have access to the camera. And there are other things the remote can do (controlling aperture, focus points, etc). But it did seem a bit gimmick-y to me. I'm also big on longevity and that seemed like an area that could be an issue over time (wireless connections, software updates, etc). If there had been an option without it, I'd have selected that one.Overall though, the YONGNUO did impress. Initially, mostly because of its price point. But the performance was definitely there as I used it more. In a direct comparison, the Sony was slightly better at everything. But the performance of this lens was close enough to the Sony to give it a real consideration if you're looking for an 11mm.

Fantastic ultra-wide lens with great extras!
The YONGNUO 11mm F1.8S is a great ultra-wide lens for APS-C Sony mirrorless cameras. It delivers sharp images with minimal distortion, and the wide F1.8 aperture is perfect for low-light shooting and creative depth of field. Autofocus is snappy and reliable, and the included remote controller is a nice bonus for self-recording or long exposures. The build feels solid, and the size makes it super portable. Excellent value for anyone needing a wide-angle prime!

Updating is a problem for me
I like this lens a lot but looking into updating the firmware is an issue for me. You have to download an updater ( Basically Malware ) software from Youngnuo Rumours to get to the firmware. The update software is a complete store, called Fast. I was able to uninstall it, but I don't trust it.I will not buy anymore Youngnuo products. Not recommended.
