1st purchase reviewed: A gift for my wife's laptop - she loved the idea of actually being able to see her keyboard and adjust the brightness easily .... alas, hasn't helped her that much with typos, etc. but a good buy!2nd purchase reviewed: In fact, liked it so much I reordered for my laptop. It came but broke after only a couple of hours. Cust svc sent a replacement and that has worked just fine! We now have 2 of these and each cost less than $10 and well worth the price. Just be aware - these are no 'cadilac' in quality of workmanship but they are made better than others I've had that cost more!

I can’t understand why it’s so hard to find a laptop lamp that functions properly. I had just returned a faulty light to Amazon (different style than this one) when I ordered this one. I loved it when it arrived on November 9th. I absolutely LOVED IT. Three levels of light, easy to turn on & off, and I could actually see my entire keyboard! Today, January 6th, it began acting like a strobe light periodically. At least the light I sent back had the decency to fail within the return window. Oh well. I may need to accept that I’ll never find one that lasts more than a couple of months. On the other hand, if that’s the only thing I have to gripe about, I guess I’m in pretty good shape.

I'm really not understanding the positive reviews on this thing. I did get what I ordered, a lamp. This provides me with no more light than single taper candle. If you were backpacking in a tent and had no other light source, I guess it would be better than nothing. I really can't understand why you would make such a dim lamp. I gave it one star because it is nice that it is adjustable, which a candle cannot do.

CHEAPLY MADE. A LITTLE FLIMSY. A PLASTIC PART NEXT TO THE LENS KEEPS FALLING OFF. I SNAP IT BACK IN, BUT IT EVENTUALLY FALLS OFF AGAIN. NOT REALLY STABLE. FLOPS AROUND IN USB PORT. IT DOES WORK AS A KEYBOARD ILLUMINATOR, WHICH IS WHAT I BOUGHT IT FOR. I'LL LOOK FOR SOMETHING A LITTLE MORE "SUBSTANTIAL" WHEN THIS FAILS. WHICH I'M SURE IT WILL, AT SOME POINT.

This little lamp is just what I hoped for. lights up my laptop keyboard just right, and if I turn it up all the way it lights up my desk around the laptop too. Flexible neck allows me to direct the light where I need it most. Been using almost daily for more than 6 weeks now with no problems.

Perfect. Exactly what I needed so I can work comfortably while my hubby goes to sleep. It's good quality and has 3 light settings from low med to high brightness. Note, it only works while you have it plugged into your usb so if you have limited ports because of your mouse, usb drive etc. You may want to think about a clamp on light or an item that will give you more USB ports.

The light is bright and I love the 3 different brightness levels, dim, medium, and bright... I just wish the whole thing was touch controlled. On this one you have to feel around for the flat, undetectable power button that is the slick plastic just like the rest of the light. Kinda takes a few seconds to even get the light on if you're in the dark

My wife's laptop doesn't have an illuminated keyboard. While traveling, she would have to keep a desk light on to see her keyboard. That interfered with my sleep in the same room. With this book light, she could see her keyboard and any papers she needed to view. Great little lamp. Like the adjustable output.
