Great item, works a treat at finding fault codes
Brilliant little gadget that everyone should keep in their glovebox for when that dreaded engine light comes on or something stops working.Having had an engine light appear after fuelling up, I remembered I’d seen these scanners previously but had never had the need to buy one. Well, today was the day, as it was the same price as my local garage would charge me to plug their scanner in, so if it turned out to be an item I used twice then it would have already paid for itself. Also if it turned out it was a fault I could fix myself then that would also be a bonus.Plugged it in and it works perfectly, showing me the recent error code and also the previous ones that the garages hadn’t cleared off when I’d had issues years ago.I purchased this item because it’s compatible with diesel and petrol cars so I can use it on all my vehicles.I note a few people are asking about apps. I use an iPhone and tried a few apps to see which ones I liked. Lots of them work just fine but the one which I recommend called Car Scanner ELM ODB2. It is probably the most thorough app for free (you can buy the full version for less than a months subscription to some of the others) and also allows you to clear the codes off whereas some others don’t unless you pay for them. I found most of the info was more than I needed (with me not being a mechanic) but it’s compatible and works fine with this item.It allows you to see the fuel consumption, engine temperature, coolant temperature and all other kinds of things that people like to find out about their cars. And least now when there’s an issue I can plug it in, find the code and look up the issue before I go down the route of throwing money away at garages. Also now I can research what the likely problem is and pass it on to the mechanic saving him time in diagnosing the issue.Great item and the novelty of being able to see what’s going on under the hood of my car has not yet worn off, so no doubt I’ll be having plenty more fun with this over the next few months.

Worked for about 1 minute
It connected briefly for about 1 minute and then refused to connect again. I have no issues with wifi and the bluetooth connector I use for bimmerlink and bimmercode work great, I only bought this to do a test to see of my dme was locked so I was not going to pay for a good one for the sake of 1 test. So poor compatibility and accuracy, would not recommend.

It works can be left connected whilst driving to record stats great value
Easy to use when set up with the app a little difficult to initially connect to. you have to make the device connect to the scanner to become your WiFi connection then start the app and connect the scanner. I am using car scanner app there are plenty on the market I also tried in car doc which didn’t seem to reset the fault codes

It works but beware it may not work forever!
Okay, the positives first. It works. It works well and its easy to set up and use. It worked a second and third time. Then for some reason it stopped working.Itbroadcasts the WiFi signal but it refuses to make a connection to the CAR. I tried different APPS. Still the same. I went through the set up instructions once again. The unit feels very warm to the touch after connection for 20 minutes. So I am making an asumption the ODBII WIfi unit is defective. For the cheap price, I will absorb the loss.

Great piece of Kit, and IS fairly compatible with Forscan!
I got this after my Ford Kuga 2011 started to display the Engine Management light. Obviously for the age of the car, seeing this light pop up can send shivers through your spine, but rather than wait a week to get into the garage, i decided to try this little plugin gadget to help identify the issue.Like most Diesel vehicles, the error was a DPF sensor.... completely understandable for a car that does short hops.I purchased a replacement DPF sensor, fault codes cleared and the car feels like brand new.Although this product (and other reviews) states it's not compatible with Forscan, I managed to get my car connected with the Forscan app on Android.Forscan is primarily setup to use Bluetooth, which will NOT work, you NEED to go into your Forscan settings and change the connection to WiFi, which will allow the app to connect (takes some time). There is a popup saying the adaptor is not recommended, however for code scanning it works great ( I never tried the service functions - but I assume they would work fine too).If you're unable to connect, make sure you disconnect ALL the other diagnostic apps you might be running. For a faster code reading app, I used "Car Scanner", which I also used to clear the error code after the DPF sensor was replaced.
