Arrived in a sealed box without the ground clamp lead. The electrode clamp has something like dried up thermal paste on its contacts and a white residue on the handle but it works.'Twas impractical/cost prohibitive to return just for that so I ended up purchasing a set of third party leads for $ 20.00 which eliminated any savings I thought I'd made with this purchase.As for the welder itself: At 7 lbs 6 oz (without leads) it's very portable and welds ok. Bought it primarily for the pulse adjustment which is a great feature on a machine at this price point but honestly haven't noticed a difference on the test pieces I've made thus far.I'm knocking two stars off for having to deal with the annoyance, inconvenience and extra expense of obtaining new clamps.Having said that, it's apparent from some of the other reviews there are quality control issues with this model (MMA-140) which probably explains its relatively low price (I paid $ 65.99 and it's currently available for $ 50.99 after a $ 15.00 coupon).Caveat emptor.

If you're not buying this welder for the pulse welding feature then why would you buy this one? Pulse welding is the latest in welding technology. As a garage welder for welding on light metal. With the average Joe would use it for. Pulse welding allows for a deeper colder weld. Less drip. less skill required. I agree the leads are cheap but not the cheapest I've ever seen. And are easily upgradable.

it ran 6013 okay it could not handle 6011 very well while trying 7018 the stinger broke in half inside the handle lol you get what you pay for as a welder of 30 years I would stay far away from this machine & go for a small flux core machine instead.

My results have been poor, a few attempts. But look what failed today. Today was only 20 amps. Third use, was never properly made, and so I'm not sure how much further along I'd be in my project but I give up welding if this is all I can afford right now

If you're looking for a low cost stick welder that works very well then this is an excellent option. This unit comes with a standard US 110v plug and also included is the adapter for 220v. The max amperage on 110 is 122 amp @60% duty cycle and 95 amp @ 100% duty cycle. If you plug into 220 then you get a Max amperage of 140 @ 60% duty cycle and 108 amp at 100% . This unit comes with everything you need to get started except rods. If you're looking for a basic welder then this is a great option.

Husband used this for some repair work and said it did quite well. Easy to use and worked like any other machine he has had. The screen made selection clear.
