Case studies well chosen and well explicated. It is a easy lecture even for people without previous knowledge in data mining or in R.

for financial systems this is a great book
Great book but a little short on basic explanations.The R examples a felt where not complete so not great for learning R with application to financial systems.

implies you can get MySQL and use that for training. This wouldn't happen it was hard work to find the pages and so far I've not got ar enough in tube book to learn anything. At the moment it's certaininlyh not been worth the purchase RPrice.not recommended

Probably the best collection of articles on using R for data mining
I really like this book. At beginning I got it to read two articles, then I ended up reading it cover to cover. Very impressed by the quality to the studies presented.
