So, the instructions are not super clear. You essentially have to have 1 HDMI cables from each monitor attached to the device (output). Then you need 2HDMI cables and 1 USB to be attached from the device to one of your computer, and another 2 HDMI and 1 USB to the other machine, which can be tricky, if you have a laptop that only have 1 HDMI port.Once you manage to get it up and running, it's amazing though! I finally can swap between my work machine and home PC with 1 button and it's perfect!

It works fine and I can now use both a laptop and PC with the two screens showing an extended desktop.However, if you're unfamiliar with this (as I was) then you'll need some extra cables.The supplied USB cables from the switch to the laptop and PC are not enough. You also need at least one HDMI cable from the switch to both devices.To use both screens on each device you need two cables per device, but if you don't have two interfaces on the laptop then you need another small hub as well. It all depends on the interfaces on your laptop and PC.I my case the connections are:1. 2 x HDMI cables and one USB cable from the switch to a Ugreen hub which has a USB-C cable that connects to the laptop providing power, keyboard/mouse control, and display.2. 1 x HDMI, 1 x HDMI to DVI, and one USB cable from the switch to my PCObviously you will want to order the cable lengths that suit your setup to make it as neat as possible.

I've never had a KCM before, so it was with some trepidation that I bought this one. I needn't have worried because it works perfectly. Switching is pretty quick - it usually only takes about a second.Because of where everything was, I had to use a much longer USB lead from one of the machines but there were no adverse affects (some people reported problems if you used longer cables).The only negative thing I found was that the power lead was very short. It didn't stop it working, but I had to use an extension lead in order to plug it in.I can confirm that everything works if both machines only use 1 monitor (one of my machines only supports 1 monitor, but I intend to buy a new one that will support 2, and I bought the KVM with this in mind). To be honest, I haven't tried it with 2 monitors yet!In case anyone is interested, both my PCs run Linux (KDE Neon to be precise) and both seem to cope perfectly well with switching.And just a note that might save you a little time and frustration when setting it up: when you look at the device from the front, the PC 1 light is on the left and the PC 2 light is on the right, but whichever machine is physically on the left, you need to plug its cables in to the right hand ports (as you look from the front) and the right hand machine plug in to the left hand ports. Otherwise everything works okay, but the lights don't match up with the physical location of the machines!All in all, a very nice device. It sits happily between my two monitors and I can press the button on the front to switch PCs - I didn't need to install the control button.

Works perfectly

I used this KVM with Ubuntu and Mac. It works pretty well with Mac, but it works pretty badly with Ubuntu. When I turn my UUbuntu machine on, the KVM works. As soon as I switch to Mac and try to switch back to Ubuntu, it doesn't recognize it, crashes, and so on until the machine freezes and needs to be rebooted.I tried with Ubuntu 22/23/24, all with the same issue. So, if you use Ubuntu with Gnome, maybe look for another KVM.

Working from home I use both a work laptop and my own PC. I used to have to unplug various cables daily to switch multiple monitors, a keyboard, camera, etc. from the laptop to my own PC. This switch has enabled me to simply switch by the press of a button - No more getting under my desk to switch cables!An excellent product that is small, neat, easy to install and works straight from the box without any software downloads or difficult install instructions.

Update!I can't recommend this. Switching between devices can take 60 seconds until the monitors stabilise, with the monitors flickering until that occurs.Never had this issue with my previous kvm (that one differed with a usb issue).--------So far no issues. Seems to work fine, switching between my work laptop and home desktop, feeding two 28inch 4k screens, keyboard and mouse.Only downside is the laughably short USB cables which are supplied. I had to buy longer alternatives, so took a star off for that.As for durability, only time will tell.

Allow two computers to share three monitors and four USB devices. Easy to install. Comes with connection leads. Has its own power supply to ensure steady usage. Up to 8k display. Good value for money.
