It's no understatement to call Elvis Presley the chief catalyst of the rock 'n' roll era. Presley earned his nickname ''The King'' by releasing dozens of course-altering singles over the course of his influential career. During the 1950s, Presley's records spent a collective 53 weeks in the No.1 chart position. On 24 Karat Hits, two dozen of the King's greatest recordings have been painstakingly compiled using the original 1, 2 and 3-track tapes. Specially mastered for SACD by George Marino, the King's best work has never sounded so intimate, detailed, present and alive. Images are true and tones are balanced on every cut. A long-out-of-print audiophile favorite - known for its first-rate sound quality - 24 Karat Hits gets the royal treatment from Analogue Productions.

Astonishing sound!
I'm not a huge Elvis fan. I like many of his songs, but the style and sound have seemed dated to now. But this record really changes things for me. The style is no different, of course, but the sound is SO MUCH better, i can hear things I could not hear before, and everything, to use hi-fi parlance, has more "air" about it. The music no longer is a loud vocal with a slightly compressed/mashed up background. The individual musicians can all be discerned and everything sounds nearly life-like.This sounds musical in a way lesser recordings do not. Thankfully, Elvis himself is a prime example on this recording. His vocals are just beautiful and beautifully captured. This is worth every penny. It would be too much to say that this literally sounded like they were in my living room, but some parts do approach that.My equipment is not world class. If I had a day with a world-class system, this would be one of the discs I would choose to play on it.

STEREO?
The PIC of the CD says LIVING STEREO but 9 of the 24 tracks are MONO?? And the tune list on the reverse is wrong when you play it as "Love me Tender" (stereo version) is number five selection and then at number 10 they are STEREO. Why did they list it without the back of the CD in the listing? and It's not a TRUE American to be so deceptive to NOT inform the buyer taht some tracks aren't Stereo!!!

If You Are an Elvis Fan
Most of Elvis' biggest hits are here. The SACD remaster of this recording simply sparkles. Every nuance of Elvis' rich deep voice is here and the instruments sound like they are playing right before you. Close your eyes and you'll think you are front row at a live performance.

Superior to the audio quality of any CD of " The King" !
I had not been impressed with the audio quality of a considerable number of the Living Stereo SACD's as the SACD zing factor was just not there. This production clearly had a measure of it.

Great remaster
What an ear opener. These tracks have been remastered to perfection. A real pleasure hearing these songs sounding so great. Well worth the extra cost. I listen to the CD layer and it is mind blowing.

fabulous recording
You know the music, which is timeless. This recording brings out the best possible sound, with clarity, depth, and all the brilliance that was captured in the original recordings. Love it!

Regular Audio CDs with much better sound available.
Save your money if you are looking to buy this SACD for good audio quality. I happen to own the'Elvis: 2nd To None' (2012 edition) & '30 #1 Hits' . Both of them are regular CDs, but their audio quality completely leaves this SACD in the dust. I am not sure what these other audiophiles here are raving about. This SACD still sounds like a old recording. The other CDs that I mentioned actually sound like a *new* recording.

Great sonics; poor quality vinyl.
First off, let me say that the sound on this Analogue Productions 3-LP 45RPM set is fantastic! I am not much of an Elvis fan, but the sound of the recording studio and musicians is so clean and immediate that it is startling to think that these were recorded as early as ~60 years ago! Some of the songs rock so hard that the vinyl practically jumps off of the turntable, and it's hard to keep still while listening to this set! The first LP is presented in mono, where the other two are in Living Stereo. But I have to knock down the rating by two stars due to the deplorable condition of the vinyl. I've been through two sets (one purchased here at Amazon UK, another here in the US), and was able to "Frankenstein" one playable set out of the two. This was pressed by Quality Record Pressing and I must say that they should be ashamed for pressing vinyl that is off-center. My first set had the first two records pressed off-center, while the second set had the third. It's not minor either--on the first set, one of the records has a "swooshing" sound where it is out of round. It's a shame, really. Such nice mastering, and such lack of *ahem* "Quality" in the production of the vinyl. For the price they are asking, these need to be far better. I would recommend this set on sound quality alone, but be prepared to exchange a few sets, or "Frankenstein" your own together, to get one that is completely playable. We should not have to do this.

good disc
I'm not really an Elvis fan but I like his "hits". I had read a few good reviews of the sound of this disc and gave it a go. SACD sound is very good. You can get this as a triple LP but that comes in at double the price of this.

Very good sacd, almost 5 stars
Very good mixing and the track list is almost perfect on this album. You got almost all the best songs from Elvis. The only things is they made a error on the track list, it's not a big deal but it's suppid. And a couple songs are mono.

Now Elvis is the king...
This SACD is very very good;I am not at all a fan of EP because all the music I heard before was so "poor" but with the quality , the precision and also the détails in most of the pieces I am almost an EP fan !One small error = there is inversion on the cd:no 5 and no 10.No 17 = exceptional...
