Best reader I have used to date.
The TOPDON TopScan Lite is hands down one of the best diagnostic tools I’ve ever used. The bi-directional control feature is a game changer—it let me test components like windows and the A/C clutch directly from my phone, saving me hours of troubleshooting. I also really appreciate the wide range of functions, especially the reset options like Oil Reset and ABS Bleeding, which helped me avoid unnecessary trips to the shop. Bluetooth pairing was fast and easy, and the app interface is intuitive on both iOS and Android. It even supports over 100 car brands, which makes it perfect for anyone who works on different vehicles. For DIY users and professionals alike, this tool delivers serious value, especially with the first year subscription-free.

they don't care if you buy it or not
Update:The product is actually really good. Despite their support bs, I decided to try it. I could still return it if I wanted to within 30 days. It got a ton of tests and a bargain at its price point and the 50 dollars a year. I change my review to 5 stars on the product but left the company review at 1 star. I would say if you are looking for a basic OBD2 reader skip this one and get a regular one. But with this little thing you can active test any supported item. I feel like I do enough home mechanic projects this will work for me.****I bought this taken in by its cheap price. I went back a day later and noticed that it was a subscription based product after the first year. I want to point out that the subscription part was labeled on listing clearly, it was my mistake for not seeing it originally.I contacted the company asking what would be lost if I didn't pay for the yearly subscription as I thought it was werid to pay 50 dollars for the device then 50 dollars each year to keep it going. The exact email I got back was :"the topscan is a very capable tool in the right hands. well worth the subscription fee if you work on cars often. its comparable to much much higher level scan tools in terms of capability. if you cannot justify 100.00 dollars than maybe its not the tool for you. You can return it."I thought that was a smart aleck email so I replied back that sounded rude and I just asked what I would lose if it didn't work. After several back and forth emails I got this this in an email:"Seems as though your mind was already made up so what can I do? You lose all bidirectional features and online functions after your subscription is up. It turns into a super basic OBD2 code reader."My mind was never made up. I was just stating that I was trying to figure out the justification for 50 dollars extra per year. I was weighing out my options as to if I would pay the 50 dollars per year or just let it go to its no subscription version.I called their sales team which the person I talked to was like "yeah...thats a pretty straight forward question. Not sure why you got that reply". He supposed to have sent it to the supervisor and I didn't hear back.So they will be receiving this back unopened and returned.

Great bang for the buck
I am a dealer technician so we have a brand-specific scanner we use, but sometimes we get vehicles of a different brand that need scanned and not everyone can afford a big, expensive scanner. I ordered this not expecting much, but I have been pleasantly surprised. It’s app-based so all you need is a smartphone. When you set up your account and link the scanner, it’s locked to your account so nobody else can use it, which I find handy since people like to “borrow” everyone else’s tools in a big shop setting. So far it has done everything I’ve needed it to and I haven’t run into a vehicle it can’t scan yet. I’ve scanned Hondas, GM vehicles, Toyotas, Hyundais, and everything in between for the US market. The app is intuitive and easy to use, and it will perform a full system scan and allow you to save a report of all systems and their trouble codes. Highly recommend to anyone who needs a general do-it-all scanner that does everything an $800 scanner would do

DO NOT PURCHASE!!! Read this first. Be warned.
I don't remember who recommended me to purchase this thing. But it's such a crap omg.Not only you don't get that first free one year subscription (I've payed additional $50 for that subscription). But it also works very, like very bad. In short:1) The app requires internet connection. You cannot use it without signing in, and it's an issue cuz it will drop your login session once in a while. And I don't have a stable WiFi connection in my garage, and it's such a PITA to use this app.2) There's not all car brands. It works for Subaru, and for Mitsubishi. But there's no Lada (which is basically rebranded Renault).Like any no name $10 OBD from AliExpress will have that car brand supported. But not TopDon TopScan for $80 + $50 subscription. Oh my gosh.Double check if you're car brand is supported.3) I've tested it with Subaru WRX STI 16", because I did a coolant flush and all I needed is to watch coolant temperature graph (when burping, in order to see when thermostat was opened/closed).But no matter what I do, there's no such data in TopDon. Be sure I've spent hours trying to find that information.Such a simple task cannot be done with TopScan.4) Issues with connection. For some unknown reason, TopDon TopScan DOES NOT connects to your car.And sometimes it can't auto read VIN number. When it happens, you must enter your VIN manually. The connection is also very unstable, even if you're like in 1 meter away.5) Eventually, it did not helped me.Thanks god I had a no name OBD from aliexpress, that I've purchased years ago for $10 or so.I've connected that thing instead of TopScan, and it successfully connected in a matter of seconds. That old no name OBD automatically read my VIN, detected the car brand, and just worked.I've had to click literally 2 buttons to access Coolant Temperature graph (updated in real time).By the end of the day, I was so disappointed.Maybe it's a good product for things like ABS brake bleeding etc. idk.Just sharing my experience, so you understand what you should expect in reality.Total waste of money and time.
