Works fine... but why?
The media could not be loaded. I did slightly disassembled it to lube it up the bearings and rail with Mobil Mobilux EP2 in a syringe tube. It has a consistent enough variance for me. I had the Klicky probe before and this is defiantly better and simpler IMO. Adding KAMP Adaptive bed mesh makes the first layers go down perfect every single time. There's also a handy red led on the switch board that's always on until there's a registered tap, then the led switches off. [more on the switch operation later]The one gripe I do have is the the 5v only switch..... I still don't understand the thought process behind this, considering every Voron compatible with tap 2.4/Trident is using mostly 24v stuff on the Stealthburner. The only way to get 5v to the board without running a new wire through the cable chains is to tap in to the RGB's 5v supply wire. I'm using a HeartK Stealthburner quick connect board so I just soldered the wire on the backside of the board...I should mention the switch used is a regular microswitch but in a Normally Closed configuration. so the opposite of a normal switch operation (the button is always depressed down and the circuit is open until it taps the bed, where the button is released and closes the circuit). But that still doesn't explain why its 5V only, considering most microswitches I've seen can take like 400v...EDIT:WOW... I just bought this and 2 weeks later they come out with a V2 version with 24Volt compatible board..... I will buy the V2 Board if ChaoticLabs sold them.

Extremely well-made Tap kit
This is an extremely well-made Tap kit. It was very easy to install and make it work.Works great on my 2.4R2, greatly improving the gantry trim.

Nice part Very smooth and ridgid - best probe repeat values I've ever had and NO extruder deflection
After dealing with the cable issue and getting a new sensor. I have to say this is the most repeatable I've ever seen this machine (voron v2.4r2 LDO 350mm). If you search "TAP intial reading" you'll find there are many users suffering from a randomly larger reading on the first tap measurement. They have also added a filter to the firmware to throw out the first reading. With this installed that over tolerance reading no longer happens. Yes the cable was pin'd out wrong but- so was my orig TAP kit. I had to change the pinout on it as well. Also I read the other comments about the sensor being only 5v, this is not true it is 5v -24v as stated.Pros:So the actual aluminum part is extremely nice! I was wanting to make this conversion due to fatigue from running high temps. I'm impressed at how smooth it is with a very positive stop on the probe lift. My setup is a galileo 2 extruder on a stealth burner. Everything lined right up and fit as expected. Also I'll add that my extruder when using printed parts would deflect a little with this it no longer does.Cons:The sensor wire harness is pin'd out incorrectly. If you run this on a 24v LDO toolhead like I have the sensor will be damaged. After looking at the schematic for the sensor and comparing it to the LDO probe header. It's pinned completely wrong safe your self and make sure you verify your pinout for the probe before connecting the included harness. The sensor harness that comes with the tap rail is different than if you purchse the sensor seperatly. Someone needs to update the kit parts with the new harness. OR have a look at the sensor only harness. It shows the correct wiring.

I received the 2.1 version of this board and that is extremely important.
I was pleased to receive the V2.1 version of this board which resolves the inverted pin issue and retains broken wire protection on the probe. My CNC Voron Tap came with the V2.0 version of the board which registers open and triggered backwards.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS, OR ANY OTHER, CHAOTICLAB/BTT/BIQU PRODUCT!!
tl;dr: Chaotic Labs ships known-defective parts and completely fails to support them despite repeated contacts. Big Tree Tech/BIQU also owns this shameful lack of support!Buyer Beware! This review serves as a stark warning to anyone considering purchasing any version of the Chaotic Lab CNC Tap, or any CL product. After a month of ineffective communication with Support, I'm left feeling frustrated, disappointed, and frankly, ripped off. The CNC Tap V1 has shipped for over a year with known defective sensors that are DOA. Check the Voron Discord for report after report of this. Check the Chaotic Lab Discord for even more reports and an illustration of the manufacturer’s lack of support. Issues have been widely reported by other users online and yet Chaotic Lab shows a complete disregard for their customers' concerns or their responsibility as the manufacturer & distributor of defective products.I have contacted the Chaotic Lab Service Team as well as their tech support department about my defective v1 CNC Tap and despite this being a known issue with scores of reports, the response has been passing the buck and silence. Not one attempt has been made to correct the issue or perform a warranty replacement.I am not the only victim of these scammers; despite the overwhelming evidence of these issues, Chaotic Lab remains silent. No official acknowledgement, no public apology, and certainly no concrete steps towards fixing a product they clearly know is faulty. This blatant disregard for customer safety and satisfaction is unacceptable, especially around these FDM printers that are handling mains voltage and have the potential to cause real damage to people & property. My Recommendation:Stay far, far away from this product, and all Chaotic Lab products. This unfortunately also includes Big Tree Tech/BTT/Biqu, who have some type of relationship with Chaotic Lab. Don't waste your money on a device that will only bring you frustration, and potentially, safety risks.Do yourself a favor, just print your Tap as the Voron team intended.
