XY3 3rd Gen Item Finder - Bluetooth Key Finder, Wallet Tracker, Phone Finder, and Lost Item Tracker for iOS and Android (Aquamarine)

Had for three months now - replaced batteries TWICELike these ... however, battery life is poor. Have to replace battery about every two months or so ... works as expected.Disappointed in battery life on all three items. No warning that they are dying .... Would be nice if XY software for Droid would be able to notify that batteries need replacing or going low.The costs of batteries will make this very expensive to use.When attached to keys, GPS is not 100 percent accurate ... WORSE ... when trying to find in a room (living room, kitchen) the sound is VERY LOW - hard to hear unless you are right on top of them.Tried by placing one in glove box of car to see if it could help find the row my car was in. Then tried to find my car in parking lot - NOT ... didn't find ... or even give me a close proximity to find.I don't recommend at this time .... perhaps it will work in time ... POOR battery life ... POOR soundGood concept ... poor battery life

My boyfriend had the original Tiles that worked great, but you can't replace the battery so we decided to give these a shot when he needed to reorder new ones. Unfortunately these didn't reach from the living room to the bedroom of a small apartment, and they were not load enough to hear when they did work. We returned them and will stick with the Tiles.

Update: the button does not always ring your phone. This isn't a huge problem for me, but for some it is. Tile is probably the way to go if you want a reliable product. I've only lost my wallet once, and don't plan on doing so again, but having a tracker is comforting in the case that I do. I'll be getting the Tile tracker now and will write a comprehensive review over there.--Out of Date Information--Range is great and the geofencing feature is awesome to have. That's why I went with this instead of Tile. Compared to others that have geofencing, (ie MYNT - Returned a few days after I got it, don't buy) this one actually stays connected from quite a ways away (not sure about exact distance, but I'd say around 100-150 feet). I leave my apartment, and when I get to my car, the app lets me know I've forgotten the tracker. The speaker is definitely quite loud and makes it easy to find the lost item. I just wish I had one when I lost my wallet!This is a bit thicker than others, but it makes up for it with it's awesome and reliable features. I will update this review if anything goes wrong or changes.

The initial setup was quite easy and the finder actually worked. Things started to break down when I actually needed to find my keys.The app was unable to find the item even if it was sitting in the bag next to me. "Out of range" was the only message I was getting. Sometimes logging out and in helped, sometimes pairing the thing with my phone again helped. Sometimes the app told me that my phone is in a 5 miles shopping mall, while the keys are next to me.After that things started to at least work a little - the app knew about the item near. However "beeping" the keys worked only once after the very initial setup. Now it always stucks on "connecting". Nothing helps. So since I can't beep the device, which is the essential functionality of this thing, I can't really use it.In short: unreliable, buggy, not worth the $25, I'm returning the item.For reference, my phone is Nexus 5X.

I switched to XY from Tile because even with discounted replacements every year it was too expensive and wasteful to simply discard or return my Tiles every year. Since the Tile came new finder devices have appeared on the market. For me the best of these was the XY3. With manay color options, a replaceable battery (which can be purchased very inexpensively), and the new options to warn you when a device gets out of range and to find your phone, the XY3 was very appealing. I ordered the three pack and had some initial setup problems due to a dead battery which XY support responded to very quickly with replacement batteries. So far they are working great.
