Great Start for a Beginner Aquarium
As someone just beginning my journey with aquariums, I was recommended Tetra SafeStart by a local fish shop owner. I must say, it has been a great experience so far. The product was easy to use, and it really helped to quickly establish a healthy environment for my fish. Everything is going smoothly, and I’m very satisfied with the results. Perfect for anyone starting out with an aquarium!

Excellent product and easy to use
Due to a house move I needed to kickstart a new aquarium setup. Before you use this make sure you have dechlorinated the water using Aquasafe - leave at least 24 hours. You then use SafeStart at the same time as adding a ‘moderate’ number of fish. In my 330l tank that was around 20 fish. For the first two or three days the water was sort of cloudy, which I guess was either dust from my rocks or the bacteria starting to work. Now around two weeks later my ammonia levels are low, I have no nitrites, and nitrates are increasing. Very good signs that my tank is cycling well after just two weeks. Keep a very close eye on your levels, test at least every three days, and do 25% water changes if you see high ammonia or nitrite levels. Try to leave your filter alone and if you do need to clean it, wash only a single pad in a bucket of aquarium water at each maintenance interval. Let the bacteria grow and your tank to cycle fully (I guess around a month or two).

Safe Start
I've been doing some rearranging of my fish tanks recently and this is great to use when restarting a tank. Test strips provide good results after use, so it does work as intended.
