6pce container set - Rectangular 5.5lt with Freshness Tray/3 x 800ml/2 x 350ml

The boxes are shallow, except the 5.5 litre box. Make sure you want what's advertised, as there are three the same size (800ml). My photos show six sausage rolls, plus two shown separately that wouldn't fit in ("I'm going to bake some scale objects"). Essentially, This Set offers several small storage spaces and one large one. But the ability to store the smaller ones within the larger one is very useful. It stores the largest box in a way that feels neat and oddly satisfying. The boxes are almost transparent so you can easily see what's inside, whether food or other boxes!It's a good investment for years to come. I've had dozens of Lock & Lock containers for years, enough to build a fort. I've tried many storage manufacturers but I recommend Lock & Lock for airtightness AND reasonable value for money e.g. This Set for just over 19quid.I like having a freshness draining tray for the large box. Previously these were only available in the Lock & Lock bacon boxes which are much narrower. Draining trays are useful not only for certain foods but for defrosting.Read the boxes as they have the care and usage info. They come with a peel-off label and with built-in "print" (so it won't wash off) as follows:(a) The underside of the base gives the capacity in millilitres, ounces and quarts; Lock & Lock reference or catalogue number e.g. HPL806; symbols indicating it's safe for the dishwasher [upper basket only!], freezer etc; manufacturer name/model "Lock & Lock"; "made in Vietnam".(b) The lid says "Open lid prior to use in a microwave oven. Only reheatable, not for cooking." Like all plastic, long microwave use would start melting the container.(c) The peel-off label on certain lids reads "BPA-free", "absolutely air-tight", and "AIRTIGHT. STACKABLE. FREEZER OK. MICROWAVE OK. DISHWASHER OK". But note the Amazon page advertising saying upper dishwasher basket only.About This Set and all Lock & Lock boxes:A. Well-made, sturdy and durable. They last for years. On the rare occasions they fail it's the lids that go - flap hinges or the rubber seal. The bases are eternal.B. They're as good as transparent so you can always see what's inside.C. Bases and lids are dishwasherable in the upper basket. Like all plastic, they tend not to dry fully in a dishwasher.D. Freezer use. Tip: For fast and easy identification (and less label-writing) I put liquids in cylindrical containers and more solid food in rectangular boxes.E. Like all plastic, certain foods can stain them e.g. heavily tomato-based or with red/orange spices.F. They've proved watertight so far, but I don't risk transporting them unless they're always kept upright. Best to test for yourself.G. Like all plastic, knives can scratch them.Buying as an intro to Lock & Lock or as a gift? - please may I offer a few tips?1. When new, flaps/"locks" feel stiff and need some welly to open/close - this is normal.2. Occasionally a flap/"lock" fails at the hinge, or the blue rubber strip breaks. I've had to replace only three or four out of dozens over many years. This Set feels to be the same usual Lock & Lock quality.3. Collecting them can become an addiction!4. Beware of imitations. Imitations, in my experience, were false economy. Imitator components aren't interchangeable with Lock & Lock's; at first glance you think they are, but they aren't.4. I have been using lock & lock for may years & use them to store almost everything.After experiencing Weevils in some flour, I store all flours dried goods fruit pasta etc in them, also very useful for storing salad veg etc in the fridge keeps food fresh for much longer. I wouldn't be without them now.One of lids arrived broken but after getting in touch with seller he reduced the price which saved me having to return them, so all happy.This set is a very good price & would definitely recommend & buy again

These are by far my favorite kind of food storage containers. I'm quite picky about them as I usually take my lunch to work - I won't tolerate spilly / drippy lunches all over my bag. I've had this set for about 6 wks, but I've had others in the past that lasted for years. This brand is really great. Although technically, you can microwave them (and the lids) - I did so and it was either too long, too hot, too powerful, or too tightly sealed b/c the top warped. However - it still works fine and somewhat went back into shape. I imagine you might want to be careful with freezing as well (don't fill to the top or you'll bust the lid off). I prefer the 2 smaller sizes... the large one is really quite large (5.5L) and barely fits in the typical UK flat-size fridge - I ended up pulling out one of my crisper drawers, and using this instead, to store half used veggies. The large one also comes with a plastic 'grate' that is the same size as the bottom - not sure what this should be used for - I suppose if you put something drippy in there. Though the grate is mere mm above the bottom of the bin, so I'm not sure how effective / useful it is.UPDATE: Not that its really required... but these are still great 1.5yrs later. Quality product, I won't use any other kind of tupperware / resealable container. I put these in my backpack regularly - never a single leak. I don't put them in the dishwasher & clean the rubber seal about every few months, and try to avoid the microwave... but ya know.. husbands and all.... I have found a use for the very large bin - I have been storing my 1/2 used veg in there, I put a paper towel under the plastic 'grate' - this keeps everything very fresh, veg lasts much longer than the usual crisper drawer method.

Arrived quickly and well packed. Lock & Lock products are well made and have many uses. These square nesting boxes are very space saving in your cupboards and fit nicely in the fridge and freezer. I like the fact that they have different coloured seals on each size lid making them easier to find.Very happy with my purchase.

These are the only gloves I will use they are the best, and last quite a long time.

I've had similar bowls for a long time and love them so I ordered another set. They arrive with a lockingtab already broken off and the company will not send me a replacement lid.
