Q: What's this like in front of the sofa? Will I be able to pull it to me and not have to lean forward?

I bought this for my elderly father, he uses it at meal times and for jigsaws and colouring. The base fits well under his armchair which means he can pull it in close and be comfortable without leaning forward.

Q: What is the length of the gap between the two legs? Is it sturdy enough to take a jigsaw board that measures 53.5 by 41.5. I use this to do my jigsaws

Hi, the gap between the legs is 17inch, I use it with an easel with jigsaw board on that which measures 30inches x 21inches and it works great. It’s a great table with a hundred uses 🙂. Hope I helped.

Q: can y use this on the bed ie whats extended height

As I don't know the height of the bed in question, it's a little difficult for me to answer in plain yes or no terms (so as not to mislead you into parting with your money on a product that would be unsuitable for your needs or the needs of the person you are buying it for). Having said that, I hope the following info will help you: If you don't mind sliding the table underneath the bed from a sideways angle (with the lip going to the side instead of towards yourself), it should be sturdy enough for resting a cup, a dinner, computer table, a book/magazine etc. I'm bearing this in mind when I buy another one of these tables for my bedroom. Q: Does this come assembled?

Mine arrived as a single piece which needed to be unfolded. No assembly with screws or bolts was needed just folding out the shelf and base. It took me about 5 minutes.
