Overall it seems to be a good reference book. But seriously the quality checks (or better yet lack of) are disappointing. The whole book is shifted up in print by about .5 inches. See image for an example.

Not very good.. as it focuses only on west/Southwestern hunting
Not very good..as it focuses only on west/Southwestern hunting. Which is not mentioned in description. Mostly personal narrative.... little substantive material (less then 20%). No mention of Midwest hunting, where U am. Wasted my money.

New Directions to explore.
In retirement one has the opportunity to select new fields of study and Paleo-American anthropology is one for me; time to have fun once again in life! The beauty of this field is it is all over the North American continent and I can plan to visit many sites and perhaps, write about each.

Good enough for a beginner
On a recent mountain trip, my wife found what appeared to be a stone scraper. All of a sudden, we were artifact enthusiasts. But, not knowing anything about arrowheads or other artifacts, I bought this book.This wasn't exactly what I was hoping for (it covers many topics that I'm not interested in) but for the money it was great, and it helped me to gain at least a basic knowledge of this hobby.

Very informative for an amateur
This book has quite a few insights in the pictures and descriptions that help identify the uses for various stone items, especially small flint tools.

Good basic guide. Not many of these types of sites left in Colorado unfortunately. A lot of hunters out there during the glory days of Colorado surface hunting
have pointed out many camps, but they have been cleaned to the last chip. Development along the front range can uncover items, unfortunately it is not in the interest of the builder to slow the process. Many will not let hunt for fear you will find something. Finding good locations anymore is hard satisfying work!

Great book.
Great book...from Kindle! but expected 3rd edition like pictured but it was 2nd edition. Look forward to it being updated when the third is Kindle available. One of the best books I have seen on North American indigenous artifacts.
