I used this for a lesson on how quickly time goes bye. It was a great visual. It is just fun to have. My grand children like watching it also. Checking on the clock

So I bought it for my desk in my office and one of my coworkers saw it and wanted but she could not have it so I got another one for her. So I have gotten 2 thinking about for one for home.

Maybe thousands of years old. And accurate.as well. Mine is 61 minutes +\- 20 seconds. Our grandkids can watch too much tv so we use this as an easy to see and understand time. When the sand runs out the tv goes off. They can take a break so you stop the sand by turning it on it’s side.

I actually bought this for like a timer, the pillar kept the hourglass safe and not that easy to get cracked

The hourglass is very nice looking. I put it beside my desk mouse to give a size reference. I did not need an accurate timer -- around 30 minutes was all I wanted. This one times out at just over 33 minutes. I would buy it again.

I liked the look of the item but I thought it was bigger but that was my mistake bc I didn't look at dimensions b4 a purchased

I ordered the 30 minute timer and it lasts for 15 minutes... I don't know if I was shipped the wrong one, because it's really small (palm sized) or if there timer is just off. either way it doesn't suit my needs and I'm unhappy. I gave it 3 starts because it's nice, sturdy, etc. But not deliver what was promised.

I like the way it looks and I've timed it and it is accurate within about 30 seconds. Some residual sand sticks to the sides but comes loose with a quick tap on the side, and this seems to be nearly unavoidable with these slower sand timers.
