Seruman Therapeutics Natural Ear Candles (3 Pairs) with Protective Discs

I am amazed at some of the negative reviews I've just read on here. I use these every few weeks because I get a lot of troublesome ear wax building up. Nothing else I have tried works - and I HAVE tried lots of things from warm water treatment, drops from the doctor and annual syringing by a nurse (although I was informed recently that they are stopping this service). I have to do this alone but I take the greatest care, using a mirror near me on the table to be able to watch the flame. When it gets a third of the way down, I remove from my ear and cut off the burnt section, letting it drop into a bowl of water beside me. Then back in my ear for another third, then cut off again (if you don't do this the burnt section will probably fall). Then I burn the last bit to the 'end line'. All the while I keep my head on a towel on the table and - this is important - I hold the cone at the best angle so that the sound of the burning is at its loudest. That may mean it's not straight up but it's the best position to do its work. Just take care and this is not difficult if you must do it without help. Of course, if someone can assist you then that's great. I always get a tickly sensation in my ear as the wax is being drawn up into the tube. The relief I feel afterwards is fantastic and I can always hear better owing to the fact that, when I peel open the tube, it has gathered a lot of wax. I really swear by these cones. They DO work perfectly if used properly!!

And the plastic bit in the end sticks into your ear. I do not have unrealistic expectations of what hopi ear candles can accomplish, but I do expect the experience to at least be pleasant and soothing which this definitely was not. I've only given 3 stars to make it more likely to be read so that people are warned. These are really horrible things which have gone into the bin.

These candles just create the illusion that they work, because when you open then after using, it seems like there is earwax there, but this isn't actually earwax. We've tested it twice, once using it in an ear full of wax, but softened, so the earwax could be taken out, as recommended (that earwax had to be later removed in an ear clinic, as the candle was useless), and then just burning the candle alone (no ear). The amount of wax inside the candle after burning was exactly the same, so it must be the candle's wax. It is a complete rip-off. It may work as a placebo for some people, but it doesn't actually take any wax out of your ear.
