Don't know about food use, but great for pools!
I bought this on the advice of an online pool forum. It is a fantastic skimmer basket, and much better than an plastic one I've tried. The cost is even less for metal as the "disposable" plastic ones. The fit is perfect, it's easy to use and clean and works great. I do not have a salt water chlorinator, so I don't know how it would do in that environment, but for straight fresh water chlorine, it's just great!

Great for yogurt
Line with cotton from an old shirt (cleaned) and this work great and you can strain about 3 litres of yogurt.
