Far End Gear Short Buds - 15" Cord Stereo Earbuds with Nylon-Reinforced Cords for Clip-on Music Players

Short cord earbuds are very hard to find and I was in need after the left side of my Sony earbud took a dive. Found these which were relatively cheap and was shocked at the excellent sound quality. Clear and just enough base. They also are very good fit as the buds have a suction kind of a feel that blocks out exterior noise out well. The buds themselves are encased in a heavy metal case which does give a bit of heft to them but does not sacrifice comfort. The only minor gripe is the cord themselves. The cord looks durable with what appears to be intertwined rubber. The problem is the wires kind of stay up a bit rather than falling flat. Other than that, these are perfect for portable clip on players.

But it turns out to be love at first sight. I bought a more expensive one thinking that it would be better but I was wrong. This earbuds has the right length and is well made compared to a $20 earbuds listed below. The cable is reinforced and there are rubber boots where the wires connected to the earbuds. This should reduce cable breakage at this point. The $20 earbuds cables are all dried out because it's just cheap plastic with no reinforcement. I disagree with the other reviewers at this point. I picked these up as an alternative to the standard single earbud that came with my clip-on bluetooth adapter for my work radio (the Icom VS-3). It works really well for that use case (which is pretty much the same as any audio device that attaches on or near the head).The materials seem pretty decent. The buds themselves are metal (I'm guessing probably zinc or aluminum) and they feel reasonably heavy and solid. The wire jacket is rubbery, and feels sturdy with nice strain reliefs at most attachment points on the cord.No serious complaints. The earbuds are a bit fiddly to place in my ears so they seal properly and don't come out, but it's not terrible. Routing the wires behind my ears helps. Sound is okay -- totally appropriate quality for the price.A couple things I've noticed: These have a characteristic I've encountered a few times in the many earbuds I've had over the years; it's not a dealbreaker but it's a little annoying. As you're fitting the earbuds, the diaphrams crackle really loudly as the air pressure in your ears moves them. Most earbuds I've used don't do this, and the noise makes these a little uncomfortable to insert, especially to get them seated securely.Also, the rubbery wire jacket is very springy, and the bends in the wire don't look like they'll ever relax on their own. I spent a few minutes with a heat gun to sort this out; now the wires are relaxed and straight. A hair dryer might work as well (but might not be quite hot enough to soften the jacket).

My clip-on Bluetooth devices work best for me, better than Air Buds or any of those knockoffs, better than the necklace style, but it means that it's clipped on my collar. Regular ear buds plugged into these devices dangle and get caught on things. Then I discovered these. They are the perfect length to attach to my clip-on Bluetooth device and not dangle. But the audio wire is so cheap. It never lasts too long with normal wear and tear before one of the wires gets pulled out completely. The wires bunch up, or stays in a bent position, rather than settling down like better material wire in better ear buds do, and this irritates my neck. Unfortunately, I haven't found any other company making "short buds" but this one.

I purchased these for my MP3 player. It was the only short cord earphones I could find on the entire internet. The cord is the perfect length for my t-Shirt pocket. I hate the 36-48-52 inch cords on the usual headphones of all types. The excessive cord creates a useless bundle. I also bought the ear locks to go with these. I highly recommend the total package. I found the fidelity of sound and the overall volume even at low setting to be excellent. I read other reviews which people were negative about the cord material as well as the sound quality. I rate these 100%. I would purchase these again and probably will when the time comes.

When I search for "Oculus Rift S Earbuds", I'm greeted with dozens of split earbuds with two separate 3.5mm jacks. The Oculus Rift has only one 3.5mm port, so these fill that role nicely. I had to specifically search "Short Earbuds" to find this product.I can think of few other reasons you'd need such short earbuds, as even for a device strapped to my own face, they are barely long enough. Ideal for VR gameplay, as I'd rather not have a long cord dangling around in my face. If you're buying these, I hope whatever you're plugging them into can live VERY close to your head, otherwise these are likely too short.Works great for me, and I'm glad I pulled the trigger on these.

I like these short ear buds, however, the design is different from previously purchased buds from the same company. The previous buds had a swivel at the end of the cord that attached to the device that enabled the cord to be positioned away from the face.UPDATE Nov. 16, 2018I have changed my rating from 3 to 1. After 3 months of use, the stereo sound is intermittent. I have to keep juggling the cord. Also, the cord never straightened out so is very uncomfortable. Very, very disappointed. I will not be ordering from Far End in the future.

They were perfect! I like to run to music but want to be alert at the same time. I can wrap one earbud around and tuck it under my jog bra strap. The other one is just the right length. Good sound quality too.

Bought these to make a set of in ear moulded plugs for use on my motorbike, found them small, light and sound is good for the price. Used a silicone mould your own kit and embedded these in it. Nice short cable to plug into my intercom. Would recommend for everyday use and if you need something light and comfy.
