They don’t make them like they used to
Sad. These used to have a clear double sided adhesive pad that worked great. Really strong adhesive. Somewhere along the line (recently) they changed to a double-sided gray pad. The gray pads have the adhesive power of chewing gum. After allowing the adhesive to cure for 24 hours before adding the weight of the dashcam, I attached the camera. It stayed adhered for 1.5 hours before my dashcam was hanging by the power cord. Like I said a shame. The old style you had to use dental floss to get off the windshield. The new takes a slight breeze.

Not quite big enough for some suction cups
I need to mount a dashcam with a suction cup onto an area of the inner windshield covered with raised black dots (frits). A suction cup will not stick to frits areas very well. It needs a perfectly flat surface. This produce would go over frits and provide such a surface, but measure first. I took a chance and eyeballed my suction cup at 2 inches when it is actually 2 1/4. There is a bigger size available. I can't speak to all vehicles, but the major manufacturer of my vehicle uses 3M adhesives in dozens of places and it has applications beyond mounting dashcams, radar detectors, phone holders, etc. Measure twice, order once.

Great option when the suction device no longer stays attached to the windshield.

Necessary to secure Suction Cups to Automobile Windshieds
Due to extreme heat and cold in our location, suction cups attached to automobile windshields do not work well alone.These had to be purchased separately since the dash camera supplier failed to include any with the kit.These have worked very well and, so far, no customers have returned due to the dash camera falling off the windshield.
