My son recently began playing chess and was interested in a set. This one was perfect, as it folded up and could be easily stored, while not breaking the bank. We don’t have the living room space to keep it out all of the time, so investing in a large or expensive set was not an option.It is made of a nice material - board and pieces are wood with felt feet. The colors are bright and as pictured. I was surprised how strong the magnets were - they keep the pieces in place well, which helps when transferring a “game in progress” from room-to-room.When not in use, the pieces fit nicely in individual foam inserts and the board closes in half. Highly recommend.

I LOVE THIS SET! VERY HIGH QUALITY! I love that it’s magnetic because teaching kids to play, the board gets bumped a lot but the magnetic pieces stay in place! I really do love this! The board is of great quality as well!

Great starter set for our elementary school aged kid who really wanted to learn chess! Love that it is magnetic, though it isn't very strong. I am curious to see how long the magnetism will last. We've had it for a few months now and it is definitely a great quality starter set!Though we love our chess set, the case does not shut if you put the pieces parallel on each side! You will only be able to fit one set of pieces even though they make it look like you can fit two sets.I wish they considered making either the pieces slightly smaller or the box slightly deeper to accommodate.
