Fits HP 17-ar050wm perfectly, great buy
Was a perfect fit in my HP Pavilion 17-ar050wm. The DVD face plate cover removed easily from the original DVD drive and snapped right into the drive caddy, no issues whatsoever. In this day and age DVD drives/writers are useless, it's nice having a OEM 1TB HDD in its place for extra storage (I swapped out the original 1TB HDD for a 500GB SSD). Seller was very helpful with answering questions I had about the drive caddy.

Serves its purpose
It does what it claims, but may take some "persuasion" to get it in place.However, it holds the HDD/SSD by pressure of threaded studs on the sides of the drive, rather than actually engaging into the threaded holes with drive mounting screws. Instructions are limited; it does not say you will need to use the bracket from your optical drive to secure this in place (you will), and the face-plate of the optical drive will likely not fit (might cause airflow issues).Bottom line, I would say it is OK if the computer will be mostly stationary, but find a better solution if you will be carrying it with you.

Tight flt, but works perfectly
It was a little tight getting it in. Not tight enough to cause trouble or break anything, just really snugThis was exactly what I needed to add 2TB of storage to my laptop. Who needs a DVD drive anymore anyway?

Very accurate description...put my 2nd hdd in it slid it into the optical slot screwed it in done...just make sure you know your laptops optical drive's size...
