Works perfect with my Astro A40s on my PC.
I bought this cable for use with my Xbox A40s on my PC because the default cable wasn't long enough. This one is a good length for reaching my headset to my PC, has a nice braided cable, and I purchased the one with the in-line mute feature. Note: you do have to hold the mute button for it to work, and release it when you're done. My friends say they hear a small noise when I press the button, so they know when I am muting my mic. I paired this cable with a "MillSO Headset Splitter for Computer, https://www.amazon.com/MillSO-Headphone-Splitter-Computer-Headset/dp/B071NDLCGC " so that I could plug it into my PC's front panel pink and green headphone jacks. Works great, and now my Astro A40 headset does double duty on my Xbox and my PC.

Better than buying another headset!
A bit cheap feeling as far as the dial on the volume. Other than that it's an excellent cord replacement for my Astro A10's.

Works Perfectly with Astro A40s
I was a bit hesitant buying this cable as quite a few reviews said that the inline mute button had to be held down, and some said it didn't change the color on their mixamp.I've only used the wire once and so far I have no complaints, just have to see if it stands the test of time. I have the Astro A40s Generation 3 for Xbox (white astros w/ white rectangular mixamp that has 2 dials) and it changes the mute status on the mixamp just fine, I only have to press it one time to mute, and once more to unmute (no holding down). Wire also comes with a velcro cable tie so you can keep your cable from getting run over by your chair (How my last one died). Friends say compared to my chair-mangled wire that my audio is much louder and clear, so that's a big plus too.

Works but static when talking
This mic works but there’s static when I talk. I got this mic on Monday 4/28 and it’s already messing up not even 5 days later. Plan on returning and buying a different cord for my Astro a40’s.
