It works well, use it all the time to check for shorts, example, unplug the fuel sending unit, disconnect the negative battery, hook the probe up to the battery, disconnect the ecm and backprobe from one end to the other using pinout and wiring diagrams, if no light comes on, your good, if green its shorted to ground, if red its shorted to positive (another wire)

Im a master certified auto technician. I have a ton of test lights and logic probes and i feel this one is a goid deal at this price point. I have used it both on cars at work and on my custom electronics projects at home (guitar effects pedals etc)It has a good quality feel and seems like it should hold up to normal use for a long time. The probe tip is sharp and a good length. It also comes with a pin tip extension which is excellent for probing very crouded areas (tight connectors, circuit boards, etc.) The battery cable is ok (it could always be longer) and the baterry clips arent as nice as they could be. The LEDs are bright enough to be clearly visable from both sides.It only draws around 10mA@12v which makes it very safe and good to use in certain situations with sensitive electronics (just keep in mind that it only takes 10mA to light up.. so don't go trusting it to verify power feeds and grounds etc etc that would carry more current.)This is a nice tool and a great value at this price. used correctly you cant go wrong with it.

I have used this diagnose several electrical issues on vehicles, mowers, generators, etc. The only recommendation I have is to cut off the battery clamps and replace them with banana jacks to use with lead extensions.

When trouble shooting a problem with an ECM I took awrong turn and lost lots of time while using a cheap12v continuity tester. After getting this tool I sawthe signal right away and was able to diagnose theproblem.

Did not have all of the parts that supports to come with it.

Instrument seemed sensitive: works well in seeing whether there's voltage being distributed through plug wires. Seems of decent quality, at a much reduced price compared to some other examples of the same type of tool.
