Design Engineering 010419 Heat Sheath 1" I.D. x 3ft Aluminized Sleeving for Ultimate Hi-Temp Protection

I bougt the 1" heat sheath to protect the exhuast from my diesel heater from melting the fuel line. The cheap chinese stuff works ok but this stuff is much better. The inner fiberglass insulation is coated by a tougher alumnum outer coating. It's very easy to slide over the 1" exhaust tube and keeps heat away from the plastic fuel line. I had an extar 8" and covered the fuel line too so I'm double protected. Highly recommend spending the extra $$ for the good stuff if it's for safety. It's very ewsy to cut with a pair of scissors and it doesn't fray as easily as the cheap stuff does.

Fits perfectly over the fuel lines I am trying protect from heat and does a phenomenal job of keeping the fuel temp from rising from engine bay heat. Lower fuel temps translate into less fuel loss through vaporization, and less vapor lock/cavitation of the fuel pump. The perfect compliment to my high performance rig.

I ordered 1" thinking it was going to be difficult to get my wiring through, I really could have done 3/4" or possibly 1/2". The ends do fray the fiberglass when you cut it so I just added some heat shrink on both ends. It is real fiberglass (very itchy) so take precaution when handling it. Works great for my starter wiring.

Didn’t have to cut it so no problems with that, seems like it’s well put together but time will tell. Easy to use as it’s a simple design

Using this on my 2013 chevy cruze to cover a coolant line (that’s right next to the engine block) from being warped. So far after a few months, it’s holding up pretty good!

Thought I was going to have to re-weld an aluminium fitting but this saved the day..
