Great for stairs
I have mainly hard floors with area rugs. I needed a lightweight stick vacuum that would pick up pet fur and stray kibbles, bits of dirt and straw from garden. This does the job quite well. I love that it has adjustable suction and can come apart to be handheld. The small power driven tool is much better than a turbo driven tool for cleaning upholstery. Note there is no room for this tool on the wall mounted storage unit (I keep it in a closet nearby.)The assembled stick vacuum with powered floor tool weighs about 6 lbs. all together and is not too hard to manuever. I like that the regular floor attachment is small enough to sit on each stair step. It is not ideal for rugs as it does seem difficult to move on my thick tightwoven, rugs. Also, when you take the tube off, the dirt cup is right next to the intake tube making it a bit difficult to aim without using one of the attachments. A BIG plus is the wall storage. I have it mounted to the wall in a hallway right next to the stairwell and the back door. I can plug it in until it is charged while it hangs there, handy for use. The battery has worked fine for me as I use it mainly in short intervals for the stairwell and small debris pickup. Emptying the cup is a bit more complex than some models. You unhook the dirt cup assemply by pressing a button and tipping it outwards and down. Then you must remove a small washable filter and set it aside, then you twist off the metal screening device to enable you to empty the cup. It is not difficult but not as easy as some other models. I am pleased with this purchase.

Easy to Use Versatile Cordless Vac
For almost 20 years I have been consistently buying cheapy little stick vacs for quick cleaning in between using a 'real' vacuum cleaner but not having to use a broom either. To name a few, I have tried Bissell, Black & Decker, some corded and some cordless. About 3 months ago, I finally decided to make the leap to a more expensive cordless stick vac and after much research, I finally chose this Samsung - and I LOVE IT! I will never go back to those cheap stick vacs. And I don't have to use my 'real' vacuum cleaner as often because thing does such a great job! The first time I used it, I put on the brush attachment and did all of my ceilings and baseboards. I had to charge it a few times, but it didn't take long and it was so easy to do. My husband thinks I am nuts because every time I use it (I am talking just last night) I say to him, "Do you know how HAPPY this makes me?!"

Major buyer’s remorse (UPDATED: less buyer’s remorse)
Updated: Now that I’ve had the vacuum for a little over a month, I thought I’d update my opinion. It’s not quite as terrible as I first thought. It does have great suction. It picks up my super shedding dog’s hair really well. The mobility of the vacuum head is really nice, too. Battery life still sucks, but all in all it’s not as bad as I first thought.I was definitely looking forward to receiving this vacuum, but am regretting it now. After charging the battery, I took to vacuuming my stairs. I had it on “max” (cuz who doesn’t like full power?), but within the first five minutes, the first of three battery charge lights went out. I hadn’t even made it off of the top landing, where I started. So, I switched it to “mid” and the battery was dead within a total of 30 mins and I had only done half of the staircase. Seriously? I spend $350 for a cordless vacuum and they can’t make a battery that has a life of more than 30 mins?! I’m sure it would have been dead much sooner if I had left it on “max.” And before you say, “why not just get a backup battery?” Why spend another $130, about a third of the cost of the vacuum itself, for another 20-30 mins? Honestly, I’d rather just return it altogether, but I guess since I’ve used it, I probably can’t. So disappointed in this vacuum.

Better than Dyson
I researched my next cordless vacuum on Consumer Reports, and this one showed rated well and tested very well. I previously had a Dyson and that just died. They are not worth the money, and the battery is dismal.I was impressed by how easy it was to come straight out of the box and ready to go. It really was just a matter of attaching two pieces. It was super quiet sounding. The ability to change speed easily at the thumb was nice. The battery life lasts long on medium mode for going around the house getting debris and dog hair. I really don't need to use the high power suction much, which drains the battery faster. It's easy to empty. The only downside is that it's not as wide as the Dyson, maybe just an inch or two smaller. Overhaul, just as consumers rated it, it's the best cordless stick for the money and very well built. Highly recommend

How Do I Love Thee?
Having two rat terriers who shed like crazy and a strange crop of tiny black bugs made me obsessed about finally getting a cordless stick vacuum. This one by Samsung is fantastic. It’s very light and easy to clean. I very much appreciate the fact that unlike some other cordless vacuums the battery can be charged separately from the main unit so I did not need to install the mounting system. The charging base is convertible so it can function as either a mounting charger and storage for the vacuum or can be easily reconfigured to be a table top charger for just the battery and the rest of vacuum can be stored in a closet. This system makes it possible to get an extra battery to keep on hand for extra cleaning time if needed. I have found the charge time perfectly adequate for my needs so far. My house is so much cleaner. So easy to grab it and pick up bugs and dog hair as needed!

Nice vacuum
I've had several Dyson vacuums and like them very well. I needed something to clean up cat litter in our basement and I'm tired of buying cheap cordless vacuums that burn out in less than a year, or don't even suck up lint. So I spent more and got this Samsung. It's a very good vacuum. It cleans the floor with no problem on the medium setting and is quieter than the Dyson. I like how the dust cup empties - very easy to do. It's a little heavier than my Dyson but it's so well balanced that this is not a problem. And I really like that I can turn the power on and off with a button so I don't have to hold a switch in all the time like on the Dyson. I definitely recommend this for a good all-round cleaning machine.
